S’mores Rice Krispies treats combine two of our favorite summer sweets

Sallys Baking Addiction

There’s just something about s’mores in the summertime. And if you combine those chocolatey-marshmallowy campfire desserts with everyone’s favorite no-bake (read: no added heat to your house) Rice Krispies treats, you’ve got the ultimate summer dessert.

The blogger at Sally’s Baking Addiction makes up her S’mores Rice Krispie Treats using the breakfast cereal, marshmallows, chocolate chips and graham crackers.

Once you’ve melted your marshmallows with butter, you add all the ingredients together and let them cool in a pan before serving. Sally suggests adding the chocolate chips last so they are less likely to melt completely.

Delish’s twist on the s’mores bar recipe subs in Golden Grahams cereal for graham crackers and uses individual Hershey bar pieces instead of chocolate chips. Yum!

This recipe for S’Mores Rice Krispies Pinwheels from Mom on Timeout adds a layer of difficulty by rolling up the bars jellyroll-style, so when you cut them, they have a pinwheel effect. But that makes them look even more unique.

How about some s’mores granola bars to take on a hike? Hello Spoonful uses whole wheat flour and old-fashioned oats to make these three-layered granola bars full of healthy fiber. Of course there are also mini marshmallows, mini chocolate chips and crushed graham crackers to create the classic s’mores flavor.

If you’re looking for something that could almost pass as an actual breakfast, try out biscuit s’mores. You can use either your own biscuit recipes or take a shortcut with Bisquick or a premade mix.

And if you don’t have time for that — say, if you’re on a campout where your kids are whining about where breakfast is — try this. Take a Pop-Tarts pastry (try the brown sugar cinnamon flavor) and cut or break it in half. Put a piece of chocolate and a roasted marshmallow in between and squish it all together. It’s even better than the actual boxed S’More Pop-Tarts!

Whichever way you go, a s’mores combo makes for a sweet summer!
