Snickers candy bars are known for fighting off big hunger and sweet tooth cravings. But the Mars Wrigley candy company has taken their “hangry” chocolate bar cure to a new level with a world-record-setting Snickers bar.

At the company’s Waco, Texas, confectionery plant, a team proudly unveiled a Snickers bar weighing in at more than two tons. That’s more than 4,000 pounds of creamy, crunchy and sweet deliciousness all in one massive candy bar!

The team from Guinness World Records was on hand on Jan. 16 to officially proclaim that, at 4,728 pounds, this was the largest ever chocolate nut bar:

But what went into making this super-sized Snickers? A lot of ingredients! This Snickers bar contains 3,500 pounds of chocolate, along with 1,200 pounds of caramel, peanuts and nougat.

To give you some perspective, this record-breaking Snickers could make 41,000 single-size Snickers bars, according to the official press release. For some additional perspective, a 2019 Dodge RAM pickup truck weighs 4,798 pounds.

Snickers already gave its candy’s fans something to cheer about this year when they announced the return of its popular white chocolate Snickers bar, which would be a permanent fixture on store shelves this time around, rather than a limited run.

But company officials felt this wasn’t enough. They decided to create this superior Snickers in order to celebrate a number of the brand’s forthcoming 2020 milestones.

“It’s a big year for the Snickers brand,” said Josh Olken, Brand Director for Snickers. “We’re not only celebrating the 90th anniversary of the brand, but the Super Bowl will also mark ten years since the iconic “Game” spot launched the award-winning ‘You’re Not You When You’re Hungry’ campaign. What better time than the Super Bowl to satisfy something on the biggest scale yet?”

According to Snickers representatives, the world-record chocolate nut bar is a “small version of something even bigger” the brand has planned for Super Bowl LIV.

What that is, we don’t know. But it promises to be a sweet start to 2020.
