Craving a vacation somewhere tropical and sunny right about now? Just in time for spring-break-planning, Southwest is having a major sale this week with affordable one-way tickets all over the U.S., Central America and the Caribbean.
Flights to some destinations are as low as $49 with travel dates through May. The sale ends on Thursday, Jan. 31, so you’ll have to act fast if you want to score a deep discount on a domestic or international fare.
Among the vacation-ready destinations included in the flight options are Las Vegas, Orlando, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Punta Cana, Belize, Costa Rica, Cuba and many more. For those looking for a super-affordable deal, there are plenty of flights for less than $100 each way. From Boston, you can travel to Nashville for $70 each way. And from Chicago (where it’s currently freezing), a flight to temperate Austin, Texas, is only $99.
Southwest also has a great baggage policy, unlike some other budget carriers. Your first two checked bags on Southwest are included in the price of the airfare.
However, there are some restrictions. The discounted flights must be booked 21 days in advance and are only valid on domestic flights that depart Feb. 19 through May 22. For international flights, you’ll need to book between April 23 and May 16.
Keep in mind, the sale is also on non-stop flights only, so you’ll have to book a separate flight to gateways like Los Angeles, Houston or Tampa, if you’re hoping to take advantage of the international deals.
In addition, the sale is only for certain departure days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday for domestic and Monday to Thursday for international flights. Some destinations like Nevada, Florida and Mexico also have additional rules, so make sure to check the terms and conditions before you book.
Happy travels!
