If you’re looking for a way to fund your 2019 travels, this could be the way to do it. Southwest Airlines is looking for storytellers and content creators who are ready to create even more memories by traveling with Southwest Airlines and documenting the whole thing on social media.
If that sounds like something you’d be into, you’ll definitely want to enter to become a Southwest Storyteller, because it’s a great excuse to travel and have your Instagram feed looking better than ever. Plus, not just one, but a total of 10 applicants will walk away with prizes from the airline.
Interested? For starters, you must be at least 21 years old to apply and have at least 2,500 Instagram followers.
Still in the running? OK. All you have to do is make sure you’ve posted a photo and a caption on Instagram that tells an engaging travel story by Feb. 24. Don’t forget to mention @southwestair and use “#SouthwestStorytellers” and “#Contest” in your post.
From there, 100 applicants will be chosen to move on to the next round, which will involve telling the airline more about your social impact and following and your love of Southwest, according to the Southwest website. The 100 who are still in the running will be notified on or around March 11.
The final 10 people chosen to move on will be asked to participate in a challenge to create content about their home city. There will be only one grand prize winner, but the good news is that the final 10 people will each walk away with something.
The grand prize everyone is after includes 24 flight e-passes for one-way travel through Southwest — which means you’ll get 24 free flights to travel across the United States (including Puerto Rico). This will go to one lucky winner, who will be notified shortly after the contest officially ends on April 7.
The next best option is 12 flight e-passes for one winner, then six flight e-passes for one winner, $500 Southwest gift cards for two winners and lastly, 10,000 Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards points for the five final winners, according to the official rules.
It looks like last year’s winners had a lot of fun along the way. Here’s just one of Rob Sesser’s posts from his time as a Southwest Storyteller:
Winners of last year’s contest, including Sesser, describe the experience as a true partnership. Their interests and love of travel joined forces with Southwest and enabled them to continue to pursue their passions, which of course, includes traveling. You can hear more about their experiences in a video from the Southwest YouTube channel:
This truly sounds like an incredible opportunity. So, if you meet the minimum requirements, go ahead and apply already!
Best of luck to you!
