Booze Up Your Morning Joe With This Spiked Iced Caramel Coffee Recipe

A steaming hot cup of coffee might be the best way to start your day in the fall and winter, but what about summertime? Well, that’s all about iced coffee.

It’s pretty easy to make your own iced coffee at home if you don’t want to make a Starbucks run. However, if you’re looking for something to really liven up your summer, you might want to consider “spiking” your coffee instead!

While you could add a number of different alcohols to your coffee depending on your preference, illy coffee and Bruno Mars’ spirits brand SelvaRey Rum have teamed up to create a boozy iced coffee that looks seriously perfect for summer.

Their spiked iced caramel coffee calls for SelvaRey Cacao (a rum) and illy unsweetened caffé Ready to Drink, plus salted caramel syrup and whipped cream. You’ll use a cocktail shaker just like you’re making a drink, then pour it over ice and add the toppings. That’s it — perfectly boozy and icy coffee!

If you don’t want to bother with making your own boozy coffee, Skyy Vodka has cold brew coffee vodka that you could drink instead, or add to your coffee for an extra punch. I personally tried the vodka straight several times and it is now officially my favorite flavored vodka.

Kahula also makes an espresso martini in a can, which features vodka, Kahlúa coffee liqueur and roasted Arabica coffee. It’s so much easier than making a cocktail yourself — all you have to do is pop open the tab and pour it in your glass!
