Spooky ‘IT’ photo shoot is going viral

If the “IT” movie trailer wasn’t enough to scare you, this child clown photo shoot certainly will be.

A new adaptation of the Stephen King horror novel hits theaters on Sept. 8, and this photo series will have you in the mood to go see the film—if you’re into the freaking yourself out, that is.

The photos were taken by a high school student from Mississippi and feature his little brother in full clown costume and makeup. Of course, he’s carrying the infamous red balloon from the book and 1990 mini TV series (the first film adaption of the book), and he’s standing in the forest.

Sound creepy? It absolutely is.

The photos definitely do the upcoming film justice in terms of scare factor.

The costume and makeup are creepy, but also pretty incredible.

Fair warning—these may give you nightmares.

Now that we’ve gotten one scary element out of the way, check out the trailer below to see if you’ll be willing to sit through this film in the spirit of Halloween.

And in case you had any doubts that this film would hold up to the original ’90s miniseries: Stephen King himself approves.

“I had hopes, but I was not prepared for how good it really was,” he said in a video blog for horror-film website Bloody Disgusting. “It’s something that’s different, and at the same time, it’s something that audiences are gonna relate to. They’re gonna like the characters. To me, it’s all about character. If you like the characters… if you care… the scares generally work.”

And considering the film features children, it really is hard not to care about the characters.

In case you’re unfamiliar, the 2017 “IT” film follows seven kids from the fictional town of Derry, which has had a number of mysterious cases of people disappearing. The kids have had encounters with an evil clown, and they’re determined to face it head on.

This talented teen photographer was able to more than capture this spirit in his photographs, so it’s no surprise that the pictures have gone viral.

People have responded to the photos online writing, “Yikes you should warn people before showing the creepy clowns,” on Twitter.

But people also can’t help but think this clown kid is kinda cute. “This is sooo creepy. He also still looks kind of cute because of his smile,” one person wrote on Twitter.

Because yeah—the reviews on clowns are kind of mixed.

And now that the brothers have gained popularity, they’re trying to get on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” so if you like what they’re doing or you know, think it’s so scary it deserves recognition, make sure you repost the images to try to get these two on TV.

But be prepared. The little one’s bound to go on-air dressed as the IT clown, so don’t say we didn’t warn you.
