Attention fans of “Star Wars!” You might have a chance to stay at Walt Disney World in a way that immerses you in the galaxy of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and R2-D2! It looks like Disney may be considering building a Star Wars hotel at their world-famous Florida resort.

Star Wars Hotel On The Horizon?

Disney hired a third-party company to survey guests about the possible “Star Wars” hotel idea. Word quickly spread around the Disney and “Star Wars” fan galaxies, and “A New Hope” was born.

According to the survey, shared by WDW News Today, the proposed resort would be set on a starship. Some of the possible amenities could include:

  • Two nights in an immersive luxury resort that looks and feels like a Star Wars spacecraft (set check-in and check-out dates so everyone is immersed on the same “story” timeline)
  • Room(s) that accommodate(s) up to four people, with an interactive “view” (galaxy or pool/atrium)
  • Every meal, from check-in on day one to check-out on day three (five meals total, including two buffet breakfasts, 1 lunch, and two signature dinners with evening entertainment)
  • One day of Walt Disney World theme park admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to visit Star Wars-themed land on day two
  • Story-driven entertainment that unfolds over the course of your stay (including live character chance encounters, and the opportunity to watch or engage in the story through things like personalized secret missions, flight training, starship exploration, and lightsaber training)

The “Star Wars” hotel stay could cost between $900 and $1,000 per guest. Guess you can’t expect value resort prices for a galactic deluxe resort experience, right?

Tie-In With Star Wars Land

Of course, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Disney would consider a hotel tie-in to the “Star Wars” franchise. After all, the company is in the middle of building a new “Star Wars”-themed land to its Hollywood Studios theme park. The new addition is set to open in 2019.

No Official Confirmation…Yet

Disney hasn’t confirmed the project, yet. Historically, though, the company holds off on making statements until it can 100 percent confirm a  new addition.

However, Disney tell the Orlando Business Journal:

We know our guests love all things in the world of Star Wars, and we’re continually exploring new ideas and gathering guest feedback as we develop plans to bring Star Wars to life at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Some of these ideas come to fruition, while many do not.

So, this may not be a ringing endorsement. However, die-hard Disney fans know the company rarely comments on rumors at all. This statement, while vague, confirms how seriously Disney is considering this option.

Keep the faith, Disney and “Star Wars” fans!
