Starburst is rolling out new Starburst Duos

While chocolate definitely has its place in the candy market, for me, the best sweet treats are chewy, fruity and juicy. Gummy bears, jelly beans — you name it, I’ll eat it.

That includes Starburst, which, up until now, always had just one flavor per tiny square, most notably their four original flavors: cherry, orange, strawberry and lemon. While they have had a few other flavor types over the years — like superfruit and sweet and sour — I usually stick to the classics. Their latest creation, however, definitely has me rethinking my Starburst approach. Not only do they have new flavors, but they’re blending them together for two seriously perfect combinations.

Each pack of Starburst’s new Duos candy includes two flavors — strawberry watermelon and blue raspberry lemonade. Starburst does not say how long these new treats will be sticking around, so you may want to pick them up the next time you’re at the grocery store.

I was lucky enough to try them and all I can say is that they not only taste like the advertised flavor, but they also lead to some serious daydreaming about summer.

“We know consumers’ taste preferences are constantly evolving, and new flavor trends are shaping the industry,” Desi Okeke, senior brand manager for Starburst, said in a press release. “We are always listening to our fans, and they love it when two flavors come together in confections.”

As unique as these Duo flavors are, it’s not the first time Starburst has launched a new product based on the feedback of candy lovers. Because the pink Starburst have always been a fan favorite, Starburst introduced an all pink-flavored package in 2017, then again in 2018 after people asked for their return.

Will you be trying the new Starburst Duos?
