This dad leaves hilarious Post-it notes about parenting around the house for his wife to find
Post-it notes have long been a convenient way to remember doctors’ appointments or a grocery shopping list. But for one stay-at-home dad, jotting down his thoughts on colorful sticky notes has become an outlet to express his often hilarious musings about parenting. And it all started because he wanted to make his wife laugh!
After the birth of his first child in 2010, New Jersey dad Chris Illuminati decided to quit his full-time job as a newspaper editor in order to stay home and raise his son. His wife, Libby, whom he affectionately refers to as his “Permanent Roommate,” kept reminding him of all the daily tasks he needed to get done to take care of their newborn baby.
Having used a system of Post-it note reminders to stay organized at his newspaper editor job, Illuminati decided to implement the same system for his new life as a full-time parent. However, boring Post-it reminders to “change the baby’s diaper” and “feed him a bottle” soon turned into funny thoughts about his day that he’d leave around the house for his wife to find.
Once he started uploading images of his sticky notes to his blog, A Message With A Bottle, they quickly went viral, garnering media attention and more than 60,000 followers on Facebook. His popularity isn’t the only thing to have grown; his family now includes a daughter as well.
Check out some of the hilarious Post-its notes that Illuminati has penned over the last seven years while raising his children.
