This Sugar Cookie Hot Chocolate Will Be Your Go-To Holiday Drink

Christmastime calls for decadent drinks and desserts, so why not combine the two with a recipe that embodies all of the flavors of the holidays, including chocolate, marshmallows, whipped cream and actual sugar cookies?

The blog Half Baked Harvest has come up with a recipe for sugar cookie-flavored hot chocolate, and it may just be the perfect drink to sip while curled up on the sofa for a Christmas movie marathon, or for sharing with friends at a holiday party.

No matter what, you’re going to want to make a big batch because after you taste this, one cup of sugar cookie hot chocolate just won’t be enough.

How To Make Sugar Cookie Hot Chocolate

If you’ve never made hot chocolate from scratch, you’ll be pleasantly surprised how easy it is to make and, more importantly, how delicious it tastes, especially compared to the pre-packaged kind.

To make sugar cookie hot chocolate, round up your ingredients (you’ll need sweetened condensed milk among other baking stapes) and then combine them in a pot on the stovetop on high heat. When the chocolate is completely melted and mixed with the milk, cocoa and sugar, then the drink is ready to be poured. Ladle it into a mug, and add the sugar cookies (you can either put a whole one in, dipping-style, or crush the cookie up and allow it to dissolve).

Don’t forget to top your hot chocolate with marshmallows, whipped cream and an extra sprinkle of sugar. (We think Santa would approve.)

Don’t have any sugar cookies on hand? Try your hand at these old-fashioned frosted sour cream cookies, or these ridiculously easy-to-make Christmas tree sugar cookies. Even store-bought cookies will taste fantastic inside a cup of sugar cookie hot chocolate.

Happy holidays!
