‘Supernatural’ star opens brewery and his ‘Duck Dynasty’ friend is the chef
While his first responsibility might be in saving people from demons, vampires and sometimes even Lucifer himself, “Supernatural” star Jensen Ackles has started a new career—one that’s a whole lot less spooky.
Ackles, along with his wife Danneel and other members of his family, recently opened their own brewery near their hometown of Austin, Texas. The appropriately-named “Family Business Beer Company” opened their doors on Jan. 10, serving a variety of beers—from IPAs to brown ales, rye lagers and more. There’s even a beer named “The Grackle,” combining “Ackles” with his wife’s maiden name, “Graul.”

“[Family Business Beer Company] was a simple placeholder (since we are a family) until we could come up with something catchy,” Ackles told Entertainment Weekly, “but we realized that the name made sense on a few different levels—one being a nod to ‘Supernatural,’ as one of the early slogans for the show was ‘Saving people. Hunting things. The family business.’ — so we shrugged our shoulders and said, ‘Guess we have a name!'”

Aside from the catchy name and amazing-looking beers, there’s also a food truck parked outside, run by some other faces you may know from TV. “Duck Dynasty” stars Jep and Jessica Robertson have set up shop outside the brewery with “Jep’s Southern Roots,” which will serve Southern comfort food and Cajun favorites to go along with the beers that will surely be flowing.

As if that’s not enough, not only will you have the chance to run into Ackles or his costar Jared Padalecki, but the brewery also has live music, outdoor games and is child- and dog-friendly:

Does life get any better than that? We think not.
