Taco Bell is opening a ‘slide-thru’ takeout window

From partnerships with Uber Eats to Grubhub, fast food restaurants are making it easier than ever to enjoy a quick bite. But now Taco Bell is giving new meaning to the term fast food with their “slide-thru” window.

What is a slide-thru window? It’s a setup that allows you to place your order at the top of a sledding hill, then tube down to the bottom of the hill to pick up your order. The custom-built slide-thru window is located at a ski resort in Canada, and it’s the best way to combine the joys of winter with your love of living más.

The purpose of this slide-thru window is to help Canadians celebrate the return of the Cheetos Crunchwrap Slider.

“On Saturday, March 2, Taco Bell Canada will reinvent the drive-thru experience in honour of Cheetos Crunchwrap Slider with the world’s first Slide-Thru,” explains a recent Taco Bell press release. “For one day only, Taco Bell fans at Horseshoe Resort near Barrie, ON, will get the chance to place their orders at the top of a tubing hill, slide down and grab their Cheetos Crunchwrap Slider from a custom-built take-out window at the bottom.”

The Cheetos Crunchwrap Slider is only available in Canada. It combines Cheetos Cheddar Jalapeño chips with Taco Bell favorites like the Spicy Chicken taco and the Supreme taco, all in a convenient slider format. Perfect for eating with mittened hands while you enjoy a quick lunch on a snow-covered hill.

No wonder so many Taco Bell fans are jealous that this location only exists in Canada. Where’s the love for the rest of us buried in inches of snow? I know a few sledding hills here in Wisconsin that could definitely be improved with the addition of a Taco Bell slide-thru window!

And I’m not the only one to think this way. Twitter user @lkrinke, for example, is calling for a similar setup in Minnesota:

Well, at least we still have delivery! It was just announced that Taco Bell is partnering with GrubHub to make it even easier for us to get our chalupas, Mexican pizzas and gorditas delivered. Spend more than $12 and you get your food delivered for free!

Laying on the couch and ordering via the GrubHub app is not as fun as tubing down a hill to get your order, but it’s still pretty darn convenient!
