Couple Expecting Sextuplets Gets Epic Gender-Reveal Party

The anticipation at a gender-reveal party is always high.

But for Courtney and Eric Waldrop from Albertville, Alabama, who already have three boys, finding out whether they were finally going to have a baby girl was extremely exciting. On top of that, the couple is expecting sextuplets, so they had not one but six chances to bring a little girl into the world. If there were ever a good reason to have a gender reveal party, we’d say this one was it.

When they decided to try for a fourth child, Courtney was really hoping she’d finally have a baby girl. After having difficulty conceiving, the couple sought fertility treatments. When they finally got pregnant, they found out they were having not one—but six—babies!

The couple already has one set of twins, their 5-year-old sons, and their big brother is 8.

“We’re excited, nervous, overwhelmed,” the couple told Inside Edition. “We never imagined six [babies] whatsoever.”

And now that they’re preparing for six little ones to arrive, it makes sense that they’re worried about costs. Six of everything—strollers, diapers, car seats—will be very expensive.

But their church held a fundraiser to help the family out, and they also planned an incredible gender reveal party.

You can find out what the couple’s having in the video below.

People use all kinds of cutesy gimmicks to reveal the sex of their babies, from cakes filled with pink or blue icing to releasing pink or blue balloons from a box. But the Waldrops found out the genders of their sextuplets when pink or blue smoke was emitted from sparklers. The whole thing is very cute, so if you’re planning a gender-reveal party, you may just want to keep this in mind!

As for what this couple is having—spoiler alert: There are three of each in store. The look on the mom’s face when the first girl is announced really says it all. She couldn’t be more ecstatic!

“I’m so excited,” the mom-to-be told Inside Edition. “Three girls and three boys. I mean—it couldn’t be any more perfect.”

Courtney shared a Facebook post in August featuring ultrasound pictures of the sextuplets, writing that the concern “at this point is being able to take in the huge amount of calories required to keep this many babies and myself healthy. So please pray that my appetite will allow me to eat like I’ve never eaten before.”

Despite the complications for both mom and babies that can go along with delivering six babies—from preterm birth to gestational diabetes—the family is hopeful that all will turn out well.

“It’s going to be something,” Courtney told “We just know God is going to get us through, somehow, someway.”

According to the CDC, about 24 births involving quintuplets or higher numbers of multiples happen each year in the U.S., so the Waldrop family is certainly in select company.

They’re expecting the babies to arrive around the first of December. Here’s wishing all the best to the happy—and growing—family!

The Video Of A Girl Getting Dragged Underwater By A Sea Lion Is A Cautionary Tale

If you haven’t seen the video of a sea lion dragging a young girl into the water by the back of her dress, it’s pretty startling. Filmed at Steveston Harbour in British Columbia, the incident occurred after visitors tossed food into the water for the sea lions. Videos like this are a crucial reminder that nature deserves our respect—and no matter how cute an animal is, it’s still wild.

In the viral video, filmed by Michael Fujiwara in British Columbia, Canada, the sea lion initially bobs around by the dock as people seem to throw food into the water (off camera). The sea lion first snaps at the young girl in question, possibly in search of food. Then, it grabbed the back of her dress as she sat down on the wooden railing close to the water.

The sea lion dragged the girl into the water and the observers sprang into action. An unidentified man immediately dove into the wharf to rescue her and they both escaped from the water swiftly. The sea lion appeared to let go of the dress immediately upon realizing it was not a source of food. The girl appeared to be unhurt; she and her family left right away.

It’s crucial to note that while sea lions are not naturally dangerous—it’s likely the sea lion in question thought the girl’s dress was food—they are huge. An adult California sea lion like the one in the video can weigh up to (and sometimes over) 800 pounds. In a fight against one of these massive creatures, a human will lose every time.

Robert Kiesman, the Steveston’s harbor authority, said this video needs to be a stern warning to visitors that they should never feed or attempt to interact with sea lions.

“You wouldn’t go up to a grizzly bear in the bush and hand him a ham sandwich, so you shouldn’t be handing a thousand-pound wild animal in the water slices of bread,” Kiesman told CBC News in an interview. “And you certainly shouldn’t be letting your little girl sit on the edge of the dock with her dress hanging down after the sea lion has already snapped at her once. Just totally reckless behavior.”

The Steveston Harbor Authority also posted a statement (albeit with more gentle wording) on its website reminding visitors to respect the sea lions.

“While we appreciate that seeing wildlife can be exciting, we stress that feeding wildlife is both illegal and dangerous!” the statement said. “Also, keep in mind that feeding wildlife can also be extremely detrimental to the animals themselves, as they may learn to associate humans with an easy source of food, which can lead to them not being able to successfully secure food in the wild.”

So, lesson learned: Don’t feed bears ham sandwiches, and don’t feed any other wild animals either.

Here’s How To Make Deliciously Sweet Peach Cobbler (Video)

The first time I made this I was completely blown away by how delicious it was! The juicy, ripe peaches topped with a gloriously sweet and crispy topping make for a heavenly dessert. This Peach Cobbler is definitely my new favorite dessert, and it will soon be yours too!

This cobbler is so good I’m tempted to just eat it right out of the baking dish (plus that would save having to wash more dishes!). Make sure to peel your peaches to prevent them from being too juicy when they bake, making the topping mushy. Surprise your family tonight by whipping up this sinfully sweet Peach Cobbler—but eat it quick because it won’t last long!

  • 2 cup fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 – 1/2 cup sugar, depending on sweetness of peaches
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup self-rising flour OR mix together 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 1/4 tsp. baking powder, 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Place peaches in greased 2 qt. baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle 1/4-1/2 c. sugar over peaches.
  4. Cream butter and 1 c. sugar together.
  5. Stir in flour.
  6. Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
  7. Spoon mixture over peaches.
  8. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until light brown on top.

How To Make Acorn Squash Egg-In-The-Hole (Video)

Egg-in-the-hole is a classic breakfast. You take a slice of bread, cut the center out with a biscuit cutter or a glass, butter it and heat it in a pan. Then, you crack an egg in the middle and let the whole thing cook until the egg is set and the toast is golden brown. Yum, right? Well there’s a new way to do this whole thing, and it’s even better. Yes, I said it. What’s the secret? Squash.

The recipe, courtesy of Cooking Light, employs an acorn squash in place of the bread. It already comes with a natural hole in the center, and the savory flavor of the squash pairs perfectly with the rich, jammy egg yolk. Topped with a little bacon or some fresh herbs, it’s the perfect breakfast for a weekday morning or a Sunday brunch. Don’t you love recipes that look a lot fancier than they actually are?

Plus, acorn squash is extremely good for you, and a much healthier start to the morning than a slice of ultra-processed bread. Acorn squash is an excellent source of vitamin C, which promotes a healthy immune system and strong bones, and could help prevent heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure and arthritis.

Acorn squash is also super-rich in antioxidants, especially beta carotene. According to the American Dietetic Association, winter squashes like acorn squash and butternut squash are some of the best sources of beta carotene that exist naturally.

Antioxidants, like the ones found in acorn squash, can help prevent cellular damage and are linked to a lower risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Beta carotene specifically helps keep your eyes healthy (carrots contain a lot of beta carotene too, prompting the age-old adage that carrots are good for your eyesight).

Watch This Woodpecker Hitch A Ride Through Downtown Chicago

Sometimes, everyone just needs a lift on a rainy day. One little woodpecker was no exception, and now his hitchhiking adventure through downtown Chicago is going viral.

The video of the bird hanging onto a man’s window as he drives through sodden downtown Chicago is incredibly sweet. The driver plays tour guide for the damp bird as he clings tenuously to the windowsill.

“You wanna see Chicago for a bit?” asks the driver. “Welcome to Chicago. There’s the Picasso right there.”

The video, which was posted last year, continues for some time as the man shows the bird, which online commenters identified as a yellow-bellied sapsucker, the sights of downtown Chicago.

“Look at you, you’re beautiful!” the man tells the bird as they continue down the street.

“It’s going to get windy,” he warns the bird a short while later, as the car speeds up.

At one point, the bird hops right into the car with him. Perched on his sleeve, the man is (astonishingly!) unfazed, and keeps driving. The story ends, according to the Facebook account Humankind, in the way most bird-human relationships do: Humankind wrote, “The driver said: “After he joined me in the car, I got out and walked to the sidewalk so he wouldn’t get run over. He simply flew away off my jacket into the sky.”

As sweet as this video is, it’s important to know that this little bird was probably dazed and unhappy after colliding with a glass window somewhere downtown. According to Annette Prince, who runs the Chicago Bird Collision Monitors, a group that helps rescue migratory birds in Chicago, the bird in question doesn’t look so hot.

“They’re not an urban bird and they’re not supposed to be in the city or certainly hanging onto a car,” Prince said of the video in an interview with Chicago website DNAInfo. After accidents like the sapsucker appears to have been in, “they’re very confused. They’re not necessarily frightened of people.”

If you encounter a dazed bird that can’t seem to fly away for one reason or another, gently place the bird in a paper bag or box with a lid. Then you can call your local animal control to come release the bird in a safe environment.

Luckily, our little sapsucker in question seemed to just need a quick ride downtown to shake off a bump on the head. Happy trails, little guy!

Here’s How To Make Delicious Nutella-Stuffed Pancakes (Video)

Ah, there’s nothing like freshly made pancakes in the morning. Actually—there is something better. Here come Nutella-stuffed pancakes, the most epic breakfast food (or dessert for anytime, really). All you need to do is freeze some Nutella discs, and make some regular pancakes with—you guessed it—Nutella stuffed in the middle. These pancakes are absolutely scrumptious! Don’t forget a glass of milk to wash it all down.

For the dry ingredients

  • 10 – 14 tablespoons Nutella
  • 1½ cups plain flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • Pinch of salt

For the wet ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup + 2 tbsp milk (I used low fat)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)
  • 1 tsp butter, separated (2 x ½ tsp)
  • Sliced strawberries (optional)

  1. For the frozen Nutella discs, line a baking tray with baking paper (parchment paper).
  2. Dollop 1½ to 2 tablespoon of Nutella onto the baking tray and spread into a disc around 2 ½” in diameter. Repeat to make 7 discs.
  3. Place the tray in the freezer until firm. Peel off the parchment paper. Keep the Nutella discs in the freezer until required (they soften quickly).
  4. For the pancakes, place the dryiIngredients in a bowl and whisk to combine.
  5. Make a well in the center and place the wet ingredients in the well.
  6. Whisk until combined and lump-free (stop whisking as soon as it is smooth, don’t over-whisk).
  7. Melt a ½ teaspoon butter in a non-stick fry pan over medium heat.
  8. Once melted, wipe most of the butter off with a paper towel.
  9. Take a frozen Nutella discs out of the freezer just before you start cooking.
  10. Dollop ¼ cup of batter into the fry pan.
  11. Working quickly, place 1 frozen Nutella disc in the middle of the batter, then top with batter to cover the Nutella disc.
  12. When bubbles start appearing around the edges (around 2 minutes), lift up the edge and make sure the underside is golden. Then flip and cook until the other side is golden. Repeat with remaining batter.
  13. Melt more butter in the pan after the 3rd or 4th pancake. You should be able to make 7 in total, but sometimes it makes 6 – depends on how much batter you use on top of the Nutella.
  14. Serve warm with sliced strawberries, if using.

Video Shows How Pills Dissolve Inside Your Body

Have you ever wondered what happens to a pill once you ingest it? You know that when you take a pill it obviously travels through your digestive system, but do you have any idea when, where or how it dissolves? Even if the answer is no, you have to check out this mesmerizing video. It shows you how certain pills break down once you take them—and is just fascinating to watch.

So now that you’ve got the visual, you’re probably wondering what causes this reaction inside your body when you take a pill. Here are the basics: Your stomach is very acidic, with pH levels between 1 and 2. It’s less acidic than battery acid, but close to the pH level of lemon juice.

After you take your pill in the morning, your stomach’s acid breaks it down slowly. Different types of pills break down at different rates. An aspirin pill with an enteric coating, for example, can handle lower levels of acidity in the small intestines. Liquid capsules, on the other hand, dissolve quickly once they come in contact with water.

There’s no need to worry about when or where the drug releases in your body, of course. Drug makers have the pill design down to a science. They’ve engineered each medicine to release at the perfect time and in the perfect location inside your body.

So enough of the technical stuff. Let’s just appreciate the video; it really is pretty incredible.

Here’s How To Turn Bottle Caps Into Tiny Containers

Tiny is IN. Have you seen how popular tiny houses are? We rest our case. And now, you can take run-of-the-mill bottle caps, like from soft drinks or water bottles, and turn ’em into tiny little containers that you can use for…well, tiny little stuff. Like your daily vitamins, or earrings perhaps! Here’s all you need to do.

1. Get A Two-Liter Soft Drink

Once you’ve finished that soda, don’t throw the bottle away!

2. And You’ll Need One More Cap

Might serve you well to have two two-liter bottles, actually.

3. Grab Some Scissors

Now, it’s time to get crafty.

4. Along With A Tube Of Glue

Gather all of the supplies, of course.

5. Now, Cut The Bottle In Half

And it’s time to put them to work.

6. Cut Until Only The Neck Remains

Just keep cutting, just keep cutting!

7. Wind Up With This

Ta-Da! The (nearly) finished product.

8. Squirt Some Glue On

Apply some glue to the opposite end of where the cap screws on.

9. Take One Of The Caps

You’ll use the glue to secure the second cap in place.

10. And Smoosh It On

There you go!

11. The Other Cap Screws On Top!

Now, screw the other top into place.

You’ve just created your very own container. What will you do with it? Maybe put some hand cream or lotion in there. Who knows? The possibilities are endless!

This Incredible Mom Built A House For Her Family Using YouTube Videos As Her Guide

The products and services mentioned below were selected independent of sales and advertising. However, Simplemost may receive a small commission from the purchase of any products or services through an affiliate link to the retailer's website.

Cara Brookins didn’t know where to turn. A divorced mom of four, she had just left an abusive marriage and had no place to live.

Then, she had a crazy idea. What if she built a house. . .by herself? Literally with her own two hands? With no construction experience, it seemed impossible, but Brookins then realized she had a fount of information at her fingertips. Enter YouTube! Yes, YouTube.

With a plethora of how-to videos just an Internet connection away, Brookins threw herself into action.

She bought a small plot of land (one acre in Little Rock, Arkansas), and drew up a blueprint.

Once the city approved it, she started the massive project. She may as well have told her neighbors that she was about to build an ark—indeed, there were many who thought her idea was absolutely absurd.

However, with the support of her family, her children and helpful friends, Brookins actually did the unthinkable: She built a house with nothing other than YouTube videos as a guide. She completed the project in under nine months for about $130,000.

The house is 3,500 square-feet, and is two stories with a brick facade. Brookins dubbed the home “Inkwell Manor” because she was an aspiring writer, and she wanted her home to be a place where she could write to her heart’s content.

And that is exactly what she did. Brookins went on to write a book about her amazing experience building her own dream home.

The book is called Rise: How a House Built a Family, and it details how Brookins escaped an abusive marriage and built her own house from the foundation up with a work crew made up of her four children.

The must-read memoir takes readers through Brookins’ inspiring journey, and shows how she and her kids poured concrete, framed the walls and laid bricks for their five-bedroom house.

Brookins has also penned several other books, including “Little Boy Blu,” “Timeshifters” and “Doris Free.” You can listen to her podcast here.

You Have To Hear This Dad’s Rendition Of ‘Tennessee Whiskey’

Who needs singing competitions when you have your own budding music career thanks to YouTube and Facebook?

Texas dad Kris Jones now has over 25 million combined views of his rendition of “Tennessee Whiskey,” thanks to a video his daughter posted on social media. They were driving around when Jones’ daughter turned on her camera phone and started recording. With the instrumental (or karaoke) version of the song playing through the stereo system, you can hear Jones belt it out and hit those high notes like it’s nothing.

His daughter, having a front-row seat to the action, can’t help but giggle and mime the words along with her talented father. If I ever need a wing-woman, I know who to ask!

In a Facebook Live video, Jones, a 38-year-old father of three, says that he knew his daughter was taping him throughout the song. But he didn’t know she would post it on her YouTube channel, Daylafulla. After it went viral, he was blown away by the reaction to his pipes.

Some said he should try out for singing competitions. He did try out for “The Voice,” but was rejected. But, with the fanfare he is getting on social media, maybe he will decide to give it another shot! Two of his videos, “Whiskey and You” and “Simple Man,” each have hundreds of thousands of views so far.

Growing up, Jones was a part of the church choir. There’s a 30-minute video of him singing “Amazing Grace.” After his start in gospel music, he gravitated toward country music. He loves old souls like Sam Cooke, but he can also sing songs written by Garth Brooks and Keith Urban.

But nothing can top Jones’ cover of Chris Stapleton’s cover of George Jone’s “Tennessee Whiskey.” He might even be able to give Justin Timberlake a run for his money!

Dave Grohl and Daughter Violet Perform Together

Speaking of incredible father-daughter duos, Violet Grohl, the 12-year-old daughter of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, recently joined her dad on stage to perform a cover of Adele’s song “When We Were Young” during the Notes & Words benefit concert in Oakland, California. We must say — we’re impressed!

Violet had no problem hitting the high notes as her dad accompanied her on guitar.

Watch the awesome performance from the May 12 show below:

Audience members got two for the price of one because later in the show, Grohl’s younger daughter, 9-year-old Harper, joined her dad and sister to sing backup on Foo Fighters’ 2017 song “The Sky Is a Neighborhood:”

Harper’s skills are just as impressive as her sister’s, and it’s clear Grohl is super proud of his daughters.

Harper and Violet recently appeared in the music video for “The Sky Is a Neighborhood,” in which Grohl directed them. Although many of us know him as a prolific musician, when it comes to his kids, Grohl is just Dad.

“You have to realize that my children don’t see me as a famous rock musician,” he explained to Rolling Stone. “They see me as a slobbish dad and especially when it comes to a director … It’s funny, they were much more cooperative making the video than they are when it’s time for them to clean their room or go to bed.”

Despite their obvious talent, Grohl says his daughters’ lives are largely like those of any other kids, and that they spend a lot of time doing things like watching slime-making tutorials on YouTube and skateboarding.

If they’re interested, I think these two have great potential to follow in their dad’s footsteps with careers in the music business. The bright lights of the stage and a screaming audience clearly didn’t bother them!

Ryan Gosling’s Reaction To His Old Dance Video Is Priceless

Ryan Gosling showed off some impressive dance moves in “La La Land,” but you don’t get to be that good without some hard work. He’s been dancing since he was young, a recent interview with Graham Norton revealed.

Norton sat down with some of Hollywood’s finest—Gosling, Emma Stone, Sienna Miller and Ben Affleck—and had something “embarrassing” to show for each and every one of them.

Gosling, however, was the only one to get a video clip played this time, and the results are absolutely hilarious. The other actors seem impressed by his dance moves, but he doesn’t seem to remember the routine fondly. He jokes about his outfit, saying “I wish I could say someone said ‘Here, you have to wear this,’ but that was my idea. I had a vision for this number. Purple and silver hammer pants.”

Boy, am I glad to see what Gosling had in mind for this routine! From his outfit to his moves, he really couldn’t have done a better job. But, I must say, he’s come a long way since then as far as dance skills are concerned.

His reaction to this video still couldn’t have been more priceless. Norton asked him how old he was when he performed this and he retorted, “Old enough to know better.” Really, I think we’ve all been there before.

Watch as Gosling tells the tale of how he got to be on the stage with so many little girls, had some rivalry with some of the other male dancers, and more in the hilarious ‘90s flashback.

When you’re famous enough for someone to dig up dirt on you, this is just part of the job. But, as far as “dirt” goes, this was really pretty adorable. And I, for one, feel as though I should personally thank Norton for finding this little gem!

Watch This Amazing Wedding Proposal During Live Performance Of ‘Beauty And The Beast’

[arve url=””/]

Attention, Disney fans! You have to see this fairy tale of a proposal.

Brenden McNeil made the bold choice to propose to his girlfriend Kaley McLean in public. (Public proposals take guts!)

But McNeil did not just propose in public. He proposed on stage. In the middle of a performance. Yep, that’s pretty bold.

You see, Kaley is a huge “Beauty and The Beast” fan. So, when she was cast as Belle in the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center’s production of the Disney musical, it was pretty much a dream come true.

That’s when Brenden got a great idea: Why not add to the excitement and magic of her final performance by proposing to Kaley during the last song of a sold-out performance?

So Brenden got to work. Without telling his girlfriend what he was planning, he worked with members of the crew to rehearse his part in the play and to be fitted for the Prince’s costume.

When the final song began on the last night’s performance, imagine Kaley’s surprise when her boyfriend came out on stage instead of her co-star. Then and there, in front of the packed audience, he got down on one knee and popped the question.

Keilan McNeil/YouTube

And, she said yes! They then completed the song and walked off stage together to thundering applause.

It was such a moving performance that Kaley’s good friend and costume designer David McCarthy asked if he could design and direct an engagement shoot for them. Of course, they quickly agreed, and the photos are positively stunning. (Note: Make friends with talented people. They come in handy.)

Can’t get enough “Beauty and The Beast”? Not to worry. The live-action movie starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens of “Downton Abbey” fame comes out in just two months. Check out the awesome trailer:
