Target Is Hiring 120,000 People For The Holiday Season — Here’s How To Apply

If you’re looking to make some extra cash over the holiday season, you’re in luck! Target is looking to hire 120,000 employees to help make the shopping experience even better for customers throughout the holidays.

According to a press release, this is a 20 percent increase to their hiring efforts last year because, as the company succeeds, they’re looking for ways to give back to their customers and to their employees. The retailer is also extending the offer of working more during the holidays to their current employees, just in case they’re looking for ways to make more money and help more during the busiest part of the year.

“Coming off a strong second quarter, we’re anticipating a busy holiday season and want to make sure we have the right teams in place across all of our stores and distribution and fulfillment centers to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests. This always starts by having conversations with our current team members to see if they’re interested in working extra hours before making our seasonal hiring commitment,” said Janna Potts, chief stores officer, in a press release.

Of course, they’re expecting the 120,000 employees to be a big plus when things get busy, across many different departments.

“Adding 120,000 people to our current team will make the holidays easier and more convenient for our guests – whether they’re in our stores, picking up their drive up orders or having a package delivered to their home.”

Target will be looking to fill roles in stores as well as distribution and fulfillment centers. All hires will earn a $12 an hour minimum wage, as part of the company’s goal of increasing the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2020, the press release states.

How To Apply

There are two ways you can apply for Target’s seasonal positions. You can either visit any Target store on Oct. 12-Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and interview on the spot during their hiring event or apply in advance at TargetSeasonalJobs.com.

And Target isn’t the only company increasing their hiring efforts this year. UPS is also hiring 100,000 employees for the holidays, and there’s potential for these positions to become full-time jobs once the holiday rush is over. And Kohl’s got a jumpstart on filling positions back in June! So, companies are definitely taking the holiday hiring seriously this year!

So, if you’re in need of a job, now’s the time to start applying to work for companies such as Target and more! Happy job-hunting!
