Taylor Swift got stuck in midair during a concert and handled it like a pro

Taylor Swift is a woman of many talents. And apparently, she is cool under pressure.

In her latest stop on the “Reputation” tour, Swift was singing “Delicate” for a sold-out concert in Philadelphia over the weekend. The song was scripted to have the pop star gliding through the air in a basket to a second stage on the opposite side of the auditorium. The problem was that the cage stopped gliding, leaving Swift just … hanging out. A few fans happened to be recording and captured what happened next:

“I’m pretty sure I’m stuck up here,” she told the crowd. “It’s a nice view though.”

Despite the malfunction and some brief confusion on her part, Swift didn’t panic, and instead started talking to the crowd about what was happening because, “it’s important to be honest with friends,” as she noted.

“What you just saw was me going straight up and down in this sparkly basket,” Swift said. “It’s supposed to take me to the other side of the stadium.”

Swift noted that people behind the scenes were trying to figure things out, but because she had no way of talking to them, the fans all became part of the production.

“Spoiler alert. I have another flying thing across there that works apparently,” Swift said. “Or … wait, so there are people talking in my ear. This is so boring for you, I’m sorry.”

So to pass the time, Swift broke out into an a capella version of one of her very first hits, “Our Song,” and then “Wildest Dreams” from her “1989” album. The crowd quickly joined in:

As a result of her improv skills, none of Swift’s fans seemed to care about the concert malfunction:

It’s good to know that when things don’t go her way, Swift can just shake it off.
