A Teenager Placed A Pair Of Glasses On The Floor Of A Museum And People Thought It Was Art

As Lisa Turtle famously said in Saved By The Bell, “What is art? Are we art? Is art art?”  The definition of art is in mind of its beholders and the context in which it appears. This week, a couple of pranksters in San Francisco reinforced this notion through a little social experiment.

While TJ Khayatan and his friends were visiting the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, they decided to place a pair of glasses on the floor and see how museum-goers would react to the new “exhibit.”

And it was a hit!  The people walking through the halls stopped and thought it was a real piece of art.  Some even stooped down to take pictures of the beautiful sculpture.

“LMAO WE PUT GLASSES ON THE FLOOR AT AN ART GALLERY,” Khayatan tweeted.

“I can agree that modern art can be a joke sometimes, but art is a way to express our own creativity,” Khayatan told BuzzFeed. “Some may interpret it as a joke, some might find great spiritual meaning in it.”
