The 8 trendiest haircuts for spring
I have a confession to make: I haven’t had my hair cut in nearly a year. I am well overdue for a hair refresh, but before I went to the salon and made the chop, I wanted to discover the best haircut trends for spring 2018. Usually, when I go see my stylist, I just kind of wave my hands around my hair helplessly and say “Can you fix this?” But this time I want to be prepared.
So what styles are trending this spring?
1. Classic Bangs
Bangs are back in a big way this spring! The new way to wear bangs this season is by pairing blunt bangs with an equally blunt bob, like Nina Dobrev:

You can wear the look straight or with a loose, beachy wave. Love it!

No wonder In Style says this is one of the sexiest haircuts of 2018!
2. Messy Pixies
Pixie cuts had a big moment several years ago when celebs like Emma Watson were all making the chop. Well, they’re back again! But this time around, pixies have more volume, texture and depth, as opposed to just being sleek and short. And the cut is so popular, it’s been named the hot new hair trend of 2018 by Her.
For example, Kate Hudson has a pixie she’s been styling with lots of texture:

And Zoe Kravitz is also following the textured pixie route:

As is Greta Gerwig:

So posh and sophisticated!
3. Choppy Bob
I utterly adore Dua Lipa’s choppy bob. It gives me major ’90s nostalgia and just seems so cool and effortless. No wonder “Elle” magazine named her bob a hairstyle to try this year!

Other celebrities are also going for the choppy bob, including Olivia Palermo:

And Emma Roberts:

4. Curtain Bangs
Now, I know what you’re thinking: Didn’t I already mention bangs? Yes, but these bangs are different. These bangs are CURTAIN bangs, and Cosmopolitan magazine loves them! What are curtain bangs? Well, that’s when you wear your bangs long and loosely parted down the middle, like a curtain draped gently apart. Jennifer Lopez is a curtain-banger:

As is Jessica Biel:

The nice thing about this style is that you can “ease” into bangs and, if they bug you, it’s simple to pin them back. So if you’re considering bangs but are a little scissor-shy, ask your stylist for curtain bangs!
5. Micro-Bangs
Yes! This is another bang trend that’s totally separate from classic bangs and curtain bangs. The beauty experts at Glamour magazine love micro bangs, and for good reason. Look to Emma Watson for inspiration:

Or Alison Sudol:

6. Midi Cut
Want to cut off a few inches but have anxiety around going too short? Then the midi cut is for you. This cut grazes past your collarbone, and is both elegant and modern. Vogue says this cut has “under-the-radar finesse.” Emma Stone rocks a midi cut like nobody’s business, whether she’s going for a chic, relaxed look:
Or straight and sleek:
7. The Modern Shag
Back in the ’70s, fierce ladies like Stevie Nicks and Chrissie Hynde made the shag a popular look for women. And now the shag is back—but this time it’s a bit more easy-breezy and simple, says Vogue. Supermodel Kaia Gerber owns this look:

As does Chloe Grace Moretz:

8. The Mullet
No, really. The mullet is having a moment right now, thanks in part to celebs like Kristen Stewart. Of course, when you’re as gorgeous as her, you can make even a mullet look good—but maybe it’s a pass for the rest of us mere mortals. However, that hasn’t stopped the beauty experts at Stylecaster from raving over her look.
Which one do you hope to pull off this spring?
