The Backstreet Boys are back and better than ever. Just yesterday, we posted that the band had surprised fans with a singalong in an elevator at the “TRL” studios in New York City. But that wasn’t their only stop. The band also stopped by the set of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” to perform new music — but they couldn’t leave without singing a classic, too.

Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell performed “I Want It That Way” in a way you’ve never heard it before. In true Jimmy Fallon fashion, he and The Roots joined the boy band to play this classic favorite on classroom instruments — making all of your childhood dreams come true.

Clearly, the Backstreet Boys still have the power to steal our hearts. Because if they can make one of their hit songs sound good using a tambourine, maracas and a xylophone, they can do it all:

It’s been 25 years since the boy band first formed in 1993 — but they’ve still got it.

And they’re more than capable of producing new music, too. They proved it with this performance of their most recent song, “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” while on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”:

Given that it’s been quite a while since the band’s 1990s heyday, the “boys” have grown up quite a bit. Just to make you feel old, some of them even have kids of their own now. We imagine their little ones are their greatest fans — although, you may catch them singing an NSYNC tune or two from time to time.

Backstreet Boy AJ McLean posted a video of his daughter singing an NSYNC Christmas tune over the holidays to prove that there’s no bad blood between two of the biggest boy band groups to ever exist:

The Backstreet Boys have reunited to create new music (and to add a fun twist to some of their old music, apparently), so is it possible that NSYNC could do the same? NSYNC’s hinted that there’s potential for them to have a future together when they reunited to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Could we be lucky enough to have the best ’90s bands together again? We sure hope so!

While you wait, however, you can jam to the Backstreet Boys tunes, old and new. They’re headlining at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. They’ll be performing through November, so book a ticket and experience the best blast from the past ever!
