‘The Big Bang Theory’ star Melissa Rauch just welcomed her first child
“The Big Bang Theory” star Melissa Rauch has welcomed her first child alongside husband, Winston. The actress took to Instagram to share the happy news.
Rauch’s “Difficult Road”
In her Instagram post, Rauch says she will never take for granted the “difficult road” she and her husband had to travel to have their child. Rauch is referencing the miscarriage she suffered before conceiving for a second time—a tragedy that she’s intentionally discussed very publicly.
“The miscarriage I experienced was one of the most profound sorrows I have ever felt in my life. It kickstarted a primal depression that lingered in me,” Rauch wrote in an essay on Glamour.com. “The image of our baby on the ultrasound monitor—without movement, without a heartbeat—after we had seen that same little heart healthy and flickering just two weeks prior completely blindsided us and haunts me to this day.”
Given Rauch’s tough journey to motherhood, it’s especially uplifting to hear about her happy news.
Welcoming Sadie Rauch
Alongside a message announcing the newborn is a girl, Rauch captioned the photo: “I am beyond over the moon to share that our beautiful baby girl, Sadie Rauch, has arrived and our hearts are bursting at the seams with love for her. I will never take for granted the difficult road it took to get here. To those on that road: I’m sending you so much love today and always.”

Fans chimed in on her birth announcement on Instagram to let the star know they could relate to both her pain and joy:
“The road is so very hard but worth every tear when they place that tiny baby in your arms and you fall in love like you never thought possible. Congratulations 💕” read one comment.
“Congratulations!! Love her name, we have experienced a miscarriage this year and we hope we can have our rainbow baby soon enough,” wrote another.
Powerful PSA About Miscarriage
In order to help reduce the stigma around miscarriage, a painful experience that is very common (statistics show that up to 30 percent of all pregnancies end in miscarriage), Rauch created a public service announcement, which features 15 women talking about their pregnancy losses.
Rauch herself appears in the video, along with other prominent women—such as Olympic medalist Nancy Kerrigan who says she suffered a devastating six miscarriages—sharing their stories to let other women know they are not alone.

We’re wishing nothing but the best for Rauch and her new bundle of joy—and hope we may get a glimpse of little Sadie soon!
Other Happy “Big Bang Theory” News
Fellow “BBT” star Kaley Cuoco had some big news to share recently as well.
Cuoco turned 32 on Nov. 30, but little did she know that her birthday would also mark another huge milestone. Her boyfriend, equestrian Karl Cook, waited until Cuoco’s birthday to ask her to marry him. He posted a video of a very emotional Cuoco — who finally stopped crying long enough to say “yes” — following the proposal.

And with that, the “Big Bang Theory” actress is officially engaged. Congrats Cook and Cuoco!
