On Sept. 27, long-running medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” is back for its 15th season, and now the trailer has arrived, to the delight of fans everywhere. The season is being dubbed “the season of love,” leading many of the series’ devotees to speculate that Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) will finally find true love once again.
“What is next for Meredith in terms of a love life remains to be seen,” showrunner Krista Vernoff told Entertainment Weekly in December 2017. “I believe that romance and love are always a possibility, especially after we’ve lost the loves of our life.”
With 14 seasons already under its belt, you may think that the ABC hit is running out of dramatic storylines, but the show is still super-popular with viewers and its 15th season makes it the longest-running primetime drama in the network’s history. Last year, Pompeo signed a deal for $20 million per year for her starring role on the show.
So, what’s in store for the latest season? Check out the trailer below to get a sneak peek:
It appears that the new season promises all the classic “Grey’s” elements that fans have come to expect, including romance, personal drama and nail-biting medical emergencies.
The trailer also teases “one jaw-dropping twist.” At the end, it shows Meredith making out in bed with Dr. Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti), who was last seen enjoying a flirtation with intern Sam Bello (Jeanine Mason).
This season will also introduce two new cast members, Chris Carmack and Alex Landi, who appear to be hunky physicians made in the mold of fan favorites McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey) and McSteamy (Eric Dane) that came before them.
The two-hour premiere of back-to-back episodes, titled “With a Wonder and a Wild Desire” and “Broken Together,” will air Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
