Do the lyrics to Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten” conjure up visions of California coastlines, the bright lights of Hollywood and the glamorous ladies of “The Hills”? You’ll be hearing them a lot more when the show — and its catchy theme song — return to MTV.

Yup. Another fan favorite reality show is getting a revival. MTV confirmed to Us Weekly that “The Hills: New Beginnings” is officially a go for 2019. The reboot brings some of the original cast members back together, along with their offspring and some other new faces.

Cast Of Characters

Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Jason Wahler and Whitney Port are all confirmed to return to the show. Like the original show, “The Hills: New Beginnings” will follow the cast through their personal and professional lives around Los Angeles. MTV released a teaser to give us a few more clues.

Us Weekly reports that some of the new faces joining the cast include a celebrity and two bloggers. The suspense is killing us!

Original cast members have been hinting at a revival for a while. Port said it would be fun and Patridge had commented that she was “not opposed” to the idea. Kristin Cavallari had also expressed interest in a revival appearance, though People reports that she will not be joining the reboot.

Also noticeably absent from the new show will be Lauren Conrad and Lo Bosworth. Bosworth, who has been outspoken against reality TV, told US Weekly, “I’m not interested in perpetuating a culture of drama around anyone or anything.”

Meanwhile, People reports that Conrad will also not be returning, even though she hosted the show’s most recent reunion, “The Hills: That Was Then, This Is Now,” in 2016.

“She’s in a different place in her life,” a source told People. “But she wants everyone to enjoy themselves. She wishes everyone the best.”

What’s Old Is New Again

Even if the whole cast doesn’t return, the revival makes sense. MTV and other networks have found great success bringing back beloved shows. MTV has rebooted several iconic ’90s showsRoseanne returned to ABC, though its run was cut short. Additionally, Charmed is also returning with new cast members.

For “The Hills,” the rest may still be unwritten, but with this cast of characters, there’s sure to be plenty of drama and intrigue to keep the story going.
