These beloved CW shows are ending

With the announcement of their 2018/2019 TV schedule, the CW has some sad news for fans of some of their most popular shows, including “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “Jane the Virgin” and “iZombie,” all of which will be ending after this coming season. Although loss of these beloved shows may be tough on those who looked forward to tuning in each week, the network tempered the announcement with some good news. CW President Mark Pedowitz says he hopes that each of the shows’ creators will make new shows for the network in the future.

Thankfully, the shows aren’t over quite yet:

“One of the things we will miss with each of those shows in terms of what they’ve done to help perception of The CW across the board,” Pedowtiz told reporters. “‘Crazy Ex,’ ‘Jane’ and ‘iZombie’ have done a great job, both the talent and the executive producers who ran the shows. Hopefully they’ll be back with us next year in a different form.”

Here’s hoping! In the 2018/2019 season, the CW also plans to expand its programming to Sunday nights with the addition of the highly-anticipated “Charmed” reboot and the return of “Supergirl,” which originally premiered on the network in 2015, and which is based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Two other new series will also debut — “In the Dark,” about a blind woman solving crimes, as well as “Roswell, New Mexico,” a reboot of the original “Roswell” series, which ended in 2002.

“It is such an exciting time at The CW,” Pedowitz said of the shakeup in the network’s programming. “We are thriving, innovating, and now we’re expanding, adding Sunday nights to our primetime lineup this fall. Starting in October, we will have 12 hours of original scripted series on our schedule — more than any other broadcast network besides CBS.”

Will you tune into the CW’s new programming this fall?
