These cheesy taco sticks are sure to be a hit with your family, especially with little ones
My family used to love Taco Tuesday at our house. But let’s face it. While tacos may be totally delicious, having them served up the same way every week can get a bit dull. As a result, our weekly taco night fell out of our rotation.
But I missed those tacos! So I began searching for ways to spice up those Tuesday nights with something different. After some quick online searches, I found the perfect solution to my tired taco night dilemma. Say “hola” to Cheesy Taco Sticks!
I’m not sure if it’s the brown crust on the outside or the ooey-gooey cheese surrounding the spiced taco meat that makes these look so incredible. And I don’t care.
This recipe, courtesy of I Wash, You Dry, takes the ho-hum out of taco night. And the best part of this dish? It’s super easy to make and get on the table quickly — the whole process will take you just about 30 minutes! In other words, it’s a perfect weeknight meal.
The ingredients for this meal are easy to find and you might even have most of them already in the house. They include:
- Ground beef
- Taco seasoning mix (pre-packaged or homemade)
- One tube of refrigerated pizza dough
- 5 cheese sticks, cut in half (you can use Colby Jack, cheddar cheese or whatever else you’d like)
- Butter
- Garlic powder
- Dried parsley
Think of these cheesy taco sticks as a Mexican version of an Italian breadstick or small calzone. You pack the cooked meat and cheese into the raw pizza dough, brush them with the melted butter, sprinkle them with parsley and bake them until they’re a perfect, golden brown. Get the step-by-step recipe at I Wash You Dry.
After they’re out of the oven, you can serve them with your favorite taco condiments, like sour cream, salsa and guacamole.
Enjoy this twist on the traditional taco night!
