This Fallen Soldier’s Comrades Came Together For A Beautiful Photoshoot With His Newborn Daughter

Freedom has a price.

That’s evident in a powerful photograph that shows a newborn being held by the men and women her late father fought alongside in Afghanistan.

Army Specialist Chris Harris was killed in action in August 2017, just days after learning he would be a dad, according to WTVD-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina.

His daughter, Christian Michelle Harris, was born on March 17, 2018. To commemorate her birth, his unit, the members of the 82nd Airborne, gathered to be there for his daughter, since he could not.

Pinehurst Photography shared the incredible image on May 29.

“Sometimes all we need to soothe our soul and ease our burdens is the loving hand of a friend gently touching our heart and lifting us towards love,” the caption read.

“It’s refreshing to see those blue eyes again,” Harris’ widow, Britt Harris said of her daughter.
