This is the story behind the excited pageboy who photobombed Meghan Markle on her wedding day

Meghan Markle’s entrance into St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19 was nothing short of grand. The trumpets sounded and the music swelled as she stood in the doorway. There were flowers everywhere and her 16-foot veil trailed behind her. It had all the makings for an epic, unforgettable moment — and one very excited pageboy sensed it, too.

If you were watching the televised wedding at home, then you definitely saw the pageboy who was standing behind Markle. He was one of the members of the wedding party asked to carry her veil — and his jaw dropped (just as mine did as I was sitting on my couch) the moment the bride entered the doorway of the church.

Historic Moment Transformed Into Absolute Adorableness

It was an adorable reaction to such an incredible, historic moment — and the world will not soon forget his genuine display of emotion.

When the trumpet sounded announcing Meghan Markle’s arrival to the church, you can see a young boy’s face light up with so much excitement, you could almost feel it through the television camera.

Dad Shares Special Moment Details

This little boy is 7-year-old Brian Mulroney. He’s the son of Ben Mulroney and Jessica Mulroney, who is Markle’s close friend. Brian has an identical twin, John, who was also asked to carry the bride’s veil. Their younger sister, Ivy, was also a bridesmaid.

Brian’s dad appeared on the Canadian show “Your Morning” to tell the story of his son’s surprised facial expression:

“I asked him, and he said he’d never heard a trumpet before,” the dad said. “I think when he walked in, he saw all the people there, and the flowers, none of that was there during the rehearsal.”

Children Enjoyed Royal Experience

Despite the immense pressure the young kids in the bridal party were under, their dad said they were still able to have a good experience.

“There was a lot of worry that this wouldn’t get done right, but they’re having so much fun with it,” he said on “Your Morning.” “And that, to me, was the thing that gave me the most pride was that we didn’t put so much pressure on them that this wasn’t joyful for them. It was pretty darn joyful.”
