This lucky family gets to spend an entire month inside Walt Disney World

A month in Walt Disney World. Many would consider this a dream come true—to live the magic for 30 straight days. Well, the Gee family, also known on the internet as The Bucket List Family, started their Disney 30-day adventure on Aug. 15.

The Gees include dad Garrett, mom Jessica and their two children, Dorothy and Manilla. They are working with Walt Disney World as part of the “30 stays in 30 days” campaign. Each day, the family stays in a different hotel on the resort property. Once the family completes the challenge, they will have stayed in every resort hotel available at Walt Disney World!

The Bucket List Family has some solid qualifications to meet this challenge. (We know, we know—the Disneyphiles among you are saying, challenge? More like best month ever!) Two years ago, the family sold all their possessions and decided to travel around the world. Since embarking on their international journey, the Gees have visited 45 countries. So, a month in Walt Disney World should be a breeze for these travel veterans, right?

However, navigating Walt Disney World every day won’t be an easy task for the family. Each day, the Gees play a game to find out their next stop in their journey. They will be constantly on the go and sleep in a different location each night.

So far, the Gees have called the following Walt Disney World resorts home for the night:

• Day one: Disney’s Port Orleans Resort–Riverside
• Day two: Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
• Day three: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
• Day four: Disney’s Beach Club Villas
• Day five: The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
• Day six: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas–Kidani Village

Navigating Walt Disney World in 30 days

Walt Disney World covers about 40 square miles in total. The resort has four main theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Two water parks also reside within Walt Disney World: Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Then, you have Disney Springs, a large-scale dining, shopping and entertainment venue. Add in two miniature golf courses, water sports, restaurants and, well, trying to see it all can get a little tiring.

As Jessica wrote in her caption on day two, “Summary of our schedule here at @waltdisneyworld: GO GO GO GO CRASH..then cuddle.”

Since the family will be on property for so long, they get a chance to explore aspects of Walt Disney World that many people miss out on. When you’re trying to cram in theme park time in just a few days, you miss out on all the other exciting stuff happening “in the World.”
