Sometimes, life with kids is hard — especially when you’re trying to make money, better yourself and bring up your baby at the same time.

That’s why we all need professors like math teacher Dr. Nathan Alexander from Morehouse College. During a recent class, he offered to wear a student’s child so that the student, Wayne Hayer, could take notes uninterrupted.

The heartwarming situation was first publicized by another student on social media. Hayer came to class one Friday with his daughter Assata, unable to find a sitter. Before starting the class, Alexander offered to take the baby. Not only did he carry her for the duration of the 50-minute class, but the professor wore her for 15–20 minutes after the class while he answered student questions.

Alexander, who is not a father himself, had noticed that Hayer often had to leave early from office hours to take care of his daughter. According to Buzzfeed News, he told Hayer to bring his daughter to class if needed.

“This is what we do as teachers,” he told Buzzfeed News.

Fellow student Nick Vaughn posted this image of his baby-wearing instructor:

Naturally, the image went viral and, to date, the tweet has 333,000 favorites and 82,000 retweets. Also, plenty of supportive messages poured in from users like @jkyles10.

Some people shared examples of other teachers doing similar things. Here’s one from user @brittanyhahn_:

The professor responded to this praise via his own Twitter, at @professornaite:

Even the little girl’s mother weighed in on Facebook:

The president of Morehouse College said his piece, too:

Happy spring break to all the hard-working instructors who make such accommodations for their students as part of their job!
