Netflix just released the trailer for ‘The Baby-Sitters Club’ series

Netflix/Scholastic

Last year, Netflix announced that a “Baby-Sitters Club” reboot would be coming to the streaming giant, and now a teaser trailer for the 10-episode series has officially dropped.

If you grew up in the ’80s and ’90s, the book series from author Ann M. Martin was likely part of your adolescence. If you were a fan back in the day, you likely identify as either a Kristy, a Claudia, a Stacey or a Mary Ann — the four fictional characters that made up the original club. (Dawns, we haven’t forgotten you, but Dawn did join the club a few books into the series.)

In 1990, we got the opportunity to see the BSC members brought to life on screen with a single season of a “Baby-Sitters Club” television show, and the girls made it to the big screen in the 1995 movie based on the series.

Now, a whole new generation of tweens will get the chance to fall in love with the BSC thanks to the new adaptation. Of course, those of us who grew up with the books are super psyched to take a trip down memory lane as well. It’s a welcome addition to other ’90s TV reboots we’ve had lately, like “BH90201.”

Get excited by checking out the trailer in the YouTube clip posted by Netflix Futures below:

The new series will premiere on July 3 on Netflix.

“Every generation has a calling — and on July 3, Netflix answers yours with ‘The Baby-Sitters Club,’ a brand new series based on the best-selling book series by the same name!” reads the description from Netflix Futures. “The new show follows the friendship and adventures of Kristy Thomas (Sophie Grace), Mary Ann Spier (Malia Baker), Claudia Kishi (Momona Tamanda), Stacey McGill (Shay Rudolph), and Dawn Schafer (Xochitl Gomez) as they start their babysitting business and all while navigating middle school and growing up.)”

Nineties screen icon Alicia Silverstone (“Clueless”) and Mark Feuerstein (“What Women Want,” “In Her Shoes,”) will play Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer and Watson Brewer, Kristy’s mom and stepdad.

We can’t wait to see what the BSC is up to in 2020!
