Pharrell Williams Welcomes Triplets With Wife Helen Lasichanh

Baby news! Hip-hop mogul Pharrell Williams and wife Helen Lasichanh have just welcomed triplets into their family. The proud couple confirmed the safe arrival of their three new wee ones to PEOPLE, but have not yet released any details about the names or gender of the triplets.

The couple has an 8-year-old son named Rocket.

Yes, Rocket! Back in 2013, Pharrell explained to Oprah that they named their son Rocket because of the meaning behind the name… that it was a man-made machine “meant to go up, meant to ascend.” The musician also said that songs like Elton John’s Rocket Man, Herbie Hancock’s Rockit and Stevie Wonder’s Rocket Love inspired the name choice.

Pharrell and his wife Helen have a sweet backstory. When he first met the beautiful model, she wouldn’t give him the time of day. In fact, she had a boyfriend. Pharrell had to wait for two-and-a-half years for Helen to become single again… and even then, she still made him work for it! He told Oprah that she was always slow to answer his texts and wasn’t afraid to play hard to get. Obviously his charms eventually worked on her!
