Truly’s new hard seltzer lemonade has just 100 calories

Spiked and hard seltzers seem to be everywhere nowadays. And Truly, one of the popular brands serving up these lower-calorie, alcoholic beverages, has created a new citrusy twist on the trend.

The drink company just announced Truly Lemonade, a hard seltzer crossed with lemonade that comes in Original Lemonade, Black Cherry Lemonade, Mango Lemonade and Strawberry Lemonade flavors.

Truly shared a short video promoting the new drinks on Instagram, captioning it, “When life gives you Truly Lemonade, you drink it.”

One Instagram commenter replied, “This is gonna taste better than Mike’s hard lemonade.” To which the Truly brand pointed out in a comment that Truly Lemonade also has only 100 calories and 1 gram of sugar, as compared to some higher calorie hard lemonades.

Truly Lemonade has a 5% ABV and 3 grams of carbohydrates. The drinks are also gluten-free.

“We took the feedback from drinkers and created Truly Lemonade for those looking for more flavor than traditional hard seltzer yet not willing to compromise on calories, carbs or sugar,” said Casey O’Neill, senior manager of product development at Truly’s parent company, The Boston Beer Company, in a press release.

Over on Facebook, among the positive comments was one from a fan who wrote, “What a refreshing change!!! I pretend it’s summer when I have these!!! Thanks for being GF!!!”

Other commenters said the drinks were too sweet for them or that they didn’t like the Stevia taste but, if you have a sweet tooth, you may want to give these a try. Though if the idea of a spiked lemonade seltzer doesn’t appeal to you at all, there’s no shortage of other spiked sparkling beverages on the market. Some like Four Loko are especially strong at 14% ABV. And PBR entered the game this summer with its own 8% ABV hard seltzer.

Wondering where you can buy Truly’s spiked lemonade? The brand has a location search feature on its site to help you find where its products are stocked.
