Turtle Dump Cake Combines Chocolate, Caramel and Pecans For the Ultimate Dessert
Is there a more perfect combination than chocolate and caramel? I don’t think so! Any dessert that involves chocolate and a gooey caramel sauce is a must-try for me.
That’s why this recipe for a turtle dump cake from Better Crocker is being added to the list of desserts I’ll be making ASAP. I’d be lying if I said I’ll wait for the next party I’m headed to because with only seven ingredients — including chocolate fudge cake mix, chocolate pudding and caramel sauce — this sounds perfect for say, a random Tuesday.

The recipe also calls for chocolate chips, pecans and chocolate frosting, so it’s basically a chocolate-lover’s dream. And because it uses boxed cake mix and pre-made frosting, it’s also super-easy.
First, combine all the ingredients — except the frosting — bake it, then let it cool. Once it’s cool, just microwave the frosting and drizzle it on the cake. You’ll then warm up more caramel sauce and drizzle that over the cake, too. Yup — I’m officially drooling.
Betty Crocker suggests topping your slice (or three) of cake with some vanilla ice cream or sweetened whipped cream if you’re looking for even more dessert. And if you like the salted caramel flavor, swap in salted caramel sauce instead of regular. Easy peasy!
If you’d like to make it a bit more homemade and decadent, try making your own caramel. All you need is a can of sweetened condensed milk, then you simply simmer it in water on the stove. It’s that easy!
If all this baking is too much for you, but you’re still craving the caramel and chocolate combo, you’re in luck because the Girl Scouts’ newest cookie flavor is caramel chocolate chip cookies! The gluten-free cookies are chewy with caramel and chocolate chips, along with a hint of sea salt.
