“It’s a historic, first-of-its-kind global broadcast event to celebrate the heroic efforts of community health workers, and to support the World Health Organization in the global fight to end COVID-19,” Global Citizen explained in a statement. “Viewers around the world can take action by visiting www.globalcitizen.org/togetherathome to call on corporations, governments and philanthropists to fund critical COVID-19 response efforts, including support for frontline healthcare workers.”

The “Together at Home” series has recently featured virtual performances from Chris Martin and John Legend, and Lady Gaga says that the effort has already raised $35 million for WHO.

“The World Health Organization is committed to defeating the coronavirus pandemic with science and public health measures, and supporting the health workers who are on the frontlines of the response,” Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of WHO, said in a statement. “We have to be apart physically for a while, but we can still come together virtually to enjoy great music. The ‘One World: Together at Home’ concert represents a powerful show of solidarity against a common threat.”
