Bed Bath & Beyond Recalls UGG Comforters Over Mold
Have you bought any bedding recently to get you through the long winter nights? Bed Bath & Beyond just announced a voluntary recall of hundreds of thousands of UGG comforters that are possibly tainted with mold.
According to ABC News, the comforters in question are the Hudson Comforters by UGG sold between Aug. 24, 2017 and Oct. 17, 2017. All three sizes (twin, full/queen and king) and all four colors (garnet, navy, gray and oatmeal) are affected. The comforter was packaged in a plastic and black cloth zipper bag, and cost between $70 and $110.
In total, the recall affects 175,000 UGG comforters that were sold in America and 20 that were sold in Canada.
In a statement to ABC News, an Ugg representative said, “The determination to recall the product at the retail level was made after a few mild spores were detected on a minimal number of units.”

According to the recall notice from Bed Bath & Beyond, “The presence of mold was discovered on some units, posing a risk of respiratory or other infections in individuals with chronic health problems or who have impaired immune systems. No injuries have been reported.”
The good news is that it seems no one has been hurt by this mold exposure. However, you should remove the comforter from your bed and your home if you purchased one of these potentially mold-tainted items.
