Underoos are still around and now they come in adult sizes
If you were a child of the late ’70s or early ’80s, you may have spent many Saturday mornings watching Hanna Barbera cartoons and eating sugar-laden cereal, wearing nothing more than your favorite set of Underoos. Should you find yourself longing for those carefree days, you’re in luck. You can still buy Underoos, and they’re available in grownup sizes.
Underoos have actually experienced several comebacks since their heyday in the time before licensed merchandising got so big. Today, Bioworld merchandising sells Underoos under license from Fruit of the Loom, which owns the brand. Bioworld markets Underoos on the Underoos website and through retailers like Amazon and Walmart.
Alternate Universes Unite
When Underoos premiered in 1977, kids everywhere got the chance to dress up as their favorite superhero, as both Marvel and DC signed on in a rare collaboration. Hanna-Barbera and Archie Comics jumped on the bandwagon as well, allowing the brand to create underwear in a wide range of character designs.
As shown in this 1978 commercial on YouTube, sets were available for boys and girls.

Underwear That’s Fun For The Whole Family To Wear
Although the brand might have fallen off the radar, Underoos are now available in sizes and styles for men, women and children. Currently, six collections are available:
- a “Harry Potter” collection, with designs including Gryffindor and Ravenclaw crests
- a “Star Wars” collection, featuring options such as Darth Vader, Rey and BB8
- a Marvel collection, with favorites like Captain America, Groot and Spiderman
- a DC collection, boasting Superman, Batman and Harley Quinn
- Minions from the “Despicable Me” collection
- a “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” collection
There are other retro faves such as “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” and “Power Rangers” available, as well as current popular characters like ones from “Paw Patrol” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s.”
The sets come in many sizes, including men’s sizes S-XXL, junior’s sizes S-XXL (which fits up to a women’s 16), and youth XS-M. They are 100% cotton, tagless and made of soft stretch fabric. Find your favorite at the official Underoos website; kids’ sets are $9.99 each, while adult sizes are available for $19.99 a pair or $13.33 apiece if you purchase three at one time.
