Doing your own nail art can be easier said than done. It certainly helps to have a tutorial to show you a step-by-step process of how to create a design.

This video, from the Piggie Luv website, makes adding some creepy features to your nails — just in time for Halloween! — seem super easy.

This sophisticatedly spooky nail design calls for a base of white polish, a gel foil to add texture and an extra coat of white paint to top it off. When you’re done, you’ve got a subtle, yet scary feature.

The raised design allows you to add a little ghost face or whatever Halloween touch you please to your nails. And once your nails are done, your costume will be perfectly complete. Narmai, the 28-year-old self-taught artist behind the Piggie Luv designs, showcases her work on Instagram, including the ghost nails:

And even Halloween-appropriate (and oh-so-creative) mummy nails:

As for the ghost nails, Piggie Luv made a video to show you how to make a skeleton hand on your nail. That way, you can follow right along with the video to create the look for yourself.

Here’s exactly what you’ll need to achieve this easy nail art: Gather white nail polish, black foil gel, a nail art brush, nail polish thinner (this Martha Stewart article recommends using nail polish remover as a thinner) and a gel top coat.

Once the white base coat has dried, you can begin to create the designs with the black gel. The raised design will create a cool texture on your nails. Mix the thinner with a little bit of white polish and cover your design once it’s had plenty of time to dry. You should not be able to see the black color through your top coat.

You’ll be left with a raised design that’s not over-the-top, but still spooky. Top it all off with a clear gel coat, and you’re all done.

So, there you have it. Sprucing up your nails this Halloween can be even easier than deciding what costume to wear. Who knew?
