This New Gadget Promises To Prevent Wine Hangovers

Pure Wine

Many people enjoy a nice glass (or two, or three) of wine now and then. And we all know that when it comes to hangovers, red wine is one of the worst culprits. But now, there’s a product that claims it can remove all of the icky, hangover-inducing ingredients from red wine. (Dreams really do come true!)

The product, which is aptly named The Wand, is sold by Pure Wine, Inc., a father-and-son-led company based in Grapevine, Texas.

So how does this magical contraption work? This graphic tells the simple story:

The Wand works because of something called “nano-pore resin technology,” which, according to the company’s website, “selectively targets undesired histamines and sulfite preservatives the moment it touches the wine in your glass.” Wine hangovers are caused, in part, by histamines that naturally exist in wine. The histamines send a “red flag” to your immune system, according to the makers of The Wand. Sulfites, which are added to most wines to extend shelf life, can also contribute to those foggy, queasy morning-after feelings.

As The Wand is a Dallas-area invention, that’s where you’re going to find it in stores. But, luckily for the rest of us, you can buy eight- and 24-packs of The Wand here!
