Watch the emotional moment when Dwayne Johnson gave his mom a new house

There are a lot of reasons to love Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. For one, he’s incredibly entertaining in a number of blockbuster movies. But what we enjoy most of all are the videos and photos he shares on his Instagram, which showcase the love he has for his children and family. They’re proof that in addition to being a top-notch entertainer, he also seems like a seriously awesome human being.

While many of his posts are adorable shots of his children, like the one where he lets his daughter paint his fingernails before he goes to work, others are even more touching. Case in point: his most recent post, which shows him surprising his mother with a brand new house for Christmas.

As the son of a pro wrestler himself, Johnson lived in multiple states and countries while growing up. From California to New Zealand, then Connecticut, Hawaii, Nashville and, finally, Pennsylvania, he knows what it’s like not to have a permanent home.

“All our lives growing up we lived in little apartments all across the country. Lived like gypsies on the road from one state to another,” Johnson wrote on Instagram. “The first home my parents ever lived in was the one I bought for them in 1999. They divorced about 5yrs later and as with life, stuff happens and things got a little complicated. Since then I always made sure my mom and dad have everything they’ll ever need – houses, cars etc. But the house this time is a special one and the timing is very meaningful.”

In the Instagram video, Johnson’s mom can be seen reading a card that Johnson said to treat like “Willy Wonka’s Golden Ticket.” The “ticket” was actually the gift of whatever house she wants, wherever she wants.

“I always say, if you got a good mama, then you gotta pretty good shot at becoming a decent human being,” Johnson’s post continues. “And somehow, somewhere along the line I became one lucky SOB to be able to make stuff like this happen. Merry Christmas Ma and WOOOHOOO enjoy your new home.”

This is not the first time Johnson surprised family members with wonderful gifts. In 2015, he gave his “uncle” a brand new truck as a thank you for lending him a pair of wrestling trunks 20 years ago when he couldn’t afford his own.

For Christmas 2016, it was his dad that received a brand new ride and, just last July, he gifted a new truck to his cousin and personal stuntman, Tanoai Reed.

We love seeing how happy and surprised his family members are by Johnson’s generous gifts and can’t wait to see what he gives away next!
