You’ll want to replace your Christmas tree skirt with this chic alternative

Do you find tree skirts as annoying as I do? In theory, they’re gorgeous and festive—but in practice, they just never seem to stay put. If you have kids or pets like I do, then you probably are constantly rearranging the skirt as it inevitably becomes crooked or bunched up. Plus, I hate having to crawl under the tree and tie those little ribbons in a vain effort to keep the skirt in place.

Even when it is in in place, a traditional tree skirt can still leave a lot to be desired. A large portion of the tree trunk often remains in view, which creates a bare and very un-Christmasy look.

Luckily, there is now an alternative to tree skirts that is so chic and modern, but still totally festive and fun. I’m already in love and can’t wait to ditch my skirts and replace them with … tree collars!

Yep, tree collars. These fashionable containers conceal your tree stand, giving your Christmas tree a clean and polished look. The best part is that tree collars come in all sorts of styles so you can choose the one that best matches your home decor and other holiday decorations.

This glossy red tree collar from Crate and Barrel would look spectacular in a traditional home:

Or if you like more of a vintage vibe, try this one from True Value:

Give your Christmas decor a glam upgrade with this shiny gold tree collar from Crate & Barrel. The hammered effect on the metal gives it texture and dimension:

If your home is more coastal and laid-back, a willow tree collar might be just the thing to complement your “au naturale” decor. Check out this rustic version from Grandin Road:

And this galvanized iron collar from Balsam Hill would be right at home in an edgy, industrial-style home:

If you really want to get fancy, consider this gold collar from Amazon, which actually rotates, so you can gaze at a slowly-spinning Christmas tree! You’ll never again have to worry about the back of your tree being ignored.
