Dragon crochet gloves are here to fashionably rescue you from winter

There’s no denying it, winter is coming. Sorry! And while it depends on where you live, the Farmers Almanac says everyone should expect some pretty cold days ahead.

That means, of course, it’s time to pack away the flip-flops and pull out the scarves and gloves. But if you’re in need of a new winter accessory this year, we have just the one to make the winter blues fade right away.

Just check out these adorable dragon gloves! Available in multiple colors, the gloves double as arm warmers because they’re so long. They are also fingerless so you can continue texting and taking winter selfies while you wear them.

Each of these is handmade in Latvia from Etsy seller Mareshop and are crafted from wool, mohair and acrylic blend yarn. As you’ve probably noticed,  they look just like dragon scales! (Or mermaid scales, if that’s more your thing!)

Mareshop has sold close to 4,000 crochet products since launching on Etsy in 2011 and has a five-star rating. The gloves cost $48 a pair and come in seriously so many colors. You can also get a shorter version of the gloves for $40 if you don’t like the longer ones.

If $48 is a little out of your price range this winter, then you can also make the gloves yourself — if you know how to crochet, that is.

Mareshop offers the crochet pattern on Etsy for only $5.78. Your only other cost would be the yarn, but you’d get to choose your colors and customize it into the perfect pattern for you.

You can also get a free crochet pattern from the Meladoras Creations Blog, though it is, of course, a little different. This tutorial does offer video instruction, however, which could be quite useful if you’re not a total pro just yet.

And if you are venturing into the world of scale gloves, why not add one more thing to your list — scale booties! If you have a new baby in your life, these would seriously make the best gift.

Still dreading the thought of feeling cold all winter? Check out these other products to help keep you warm and cozy. From a bathroom mat with slippers to a heated lotion dispenser, you’re guaranteed to stay warm until the sunnier days of spring!
