We can get so wrapped up in the relationships on our favorite TV shows that it’s sometimes easy to forget we’re watching fictional love stories. Thankfully, the actors that portray the lovable Pearson family clan and their circle of friends on “This Is Us” seem to be just as lovable in real life as they are on the show. (Though married or dating other people, naturally.)
Here’s a look at the true “This Is Us” love stories. (Warning: There are season two spoilers ahead, if you haven’t watched it yet!)
Characters: Randall and Beth Pearson
Rebecca and Jack know how to keep the romance alive, and Kate and Toby are adorable. But Randall and Beth give both couples a run for their money.
Susan Kelechi Watson has kept her private life very private, so her love life status remains a mystery. Though she seems to get along well with Sterling K. Brown’s real-life wife, which is music to a “This Is Us” fan’s ears.
Milo Ventimiglia has previously dated his costars Alexis Bledel and Hayden Panettiere. But he and Mandy Moore are not an item. Instead, Ventimiglia reportedly is dating fashion marketing coordinator Kelly Egarian (below left) whom he took to the Emmys.
After her 5-year-marriage to musician Ryan Adams ended in divorce, Mandy Moore found love again with another musician, Taylor Goldsmith. The two got engaged in September 2017.
Moore’s ex-boyfriends pre-Adams include Wilmer Valderrama, tennis star Andy Roddick and Zach Braff.
After connecting at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting in the first season of “This Is Us,” Kate and Toby started dating and their relationship grew quickly. The pair married in the season 2 finale.
Though Chrissy Metz was previously attached to “This Is Us” cameraman Josh Stancil (pictured below), she is not currently dating anyone. She’s also been married before.
Chris Sullivan is married to filmmaker Rachel Reichard. Based on his social media posts about Reichard, Sullivan continues to be smitten with his spouse six years after they wed.
Miguel and Shelly were best buds with Jack and Rebecca. Then Miguel and Shelly announce they are getting a divorce. Years later, after Jack dies, Miguel reconnects with Rebecca on Facebook and eventually the two marry.
Madison is kind of kooky but her heart is in the right place. It looked like she and Kevin might hook up at Kate and Toby’s wedding before we flash forward to Kevin’s plane ride to Vietnam where he’s seen cuddling with Beth’s cousin.
While clear information aboutRon Cephas Jones‘ love life is hard to come by, he at one point was with jazz singer Kim Lesley. Lesley is the mother of his child, Jasmine Cephas Jones, 28, who is a Broadway actress best known for her roles in the original production of “Hamilton.”
Ladies man Kevin Pearson has hooked up with or dated a number of women since “This Is Us” premiered. His reunion with ex-wife and childhood sweetheart, Sophie, didn’t ultimately work out. But the show’s second season did end with a flash forward showing him jetting off to Vietnam with Beth’s cousin Zoe.
