You Can Now Buy Red Beet Pizza Crust

Well, it seems like there’s a new alternative pizza crust in town. To say that cauliflower pizza crust had gained popularity would be an understatement. But now that Whole Foods is selling Red Beet Pizza Crust, has the cauliflower heyday come to an end?

Only time will tell, but beet-based pizza crust is an interesting concept for sure. It’s grain-free and gluten-free and seems like a healthy alternative to the usual pizza crust (not to mention, it sounds like a much tastier way to eat beets), so what’s not to like, really?

The 365 Everyday Value brand beet crust has been available at Whole Foods since at least March, and based on the reactions online from people who have tried it, some people really like it and others are still skeptical of the whole concept.

Twitter user @taripie dubbed the crust alternative “amazing.”

And in a more extensive review of the crust on Instagram, @robynnalana said this was “def worth buying,” and went on to explain that it was “way better then cauliflower” and noted that it “doesn’t fall apart” when cooking, serving or eating it. All in all, she said, “It was awesome.”

Instagram user @onceuponapumpkin said this pizza crust was “so good” and encouraged her followers to “Go grab it now!”

But there are still those who aren’t completely convinced just yet.

Twitter user @Compete2Beat wrote, “Hmm … beet pizza crust?”

And honestly, we can understand the hesitation. But we also can’t help but be impressed by all of the options pizza lovers come up with.

As Twitter user @seemachandra wrote, “The world of food never ceases to surprise me.”

Same, @seemachandra, same.

We’re willing to give this a try. Because we’ve never met a pizza crust we wouldn’t eat.

What do you think? Would you be willing to give this a try? Pick some up at Whole Foods if you’re interested! Or look into making some from scratch — you can find plenty of recipes on Pinterest.

May the beet crust adventure begin!
