9 Photos of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s parenting moments at the royal wedding
This weekend, Prince Harry married American actress Meghan Markle in a gorgeous ceremony watched by millions of people around the world. Prince William had the important duties of best man, and his children had the honor of serving as a bridesmaid and page boy. But that doesn’t mean he and Kate Middleton were off the hook as far as their parenting duties were concerned!
From making sure their kids, Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 3, were in their appropriate spots while awaiting the bride’s arrival to wrangling their little ones once the ceremony had ended, the royal couple definitely had their hands full. (Their youngest child, Prince Louis, who is nearly a month old, did not attend the ceremony.)
Even when they are royalty, a mother and father are always on duty — and these photos will prove it:
1. Car Pool
Middleton, as well as two of Markle’s friends, rode in cars with the children of the bridal party to the ceremony. Here she is with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and two other children pulling up to the chapel.
2. Buddy System
Middleton then held hands with the little ones as they made their way inside. The mom even had her son hold another boy’s hand — because yes, the royals use the buddy system, too.
3. Parent Time
Inside the church, Middleton and her husband had a second to check in with each other. We’d like to think they’re discussing if the children had their snack before the ceremony started. A parent’s work is never done!
4. Making An Exit
Once the ceremony ended and Prince William’s best man duties were complete, he returned to his dad duties and held hands with his son as they left the church.
5. Portraits
The couple made sure their tots were on their best behavior as they smiled for the cameras.
6. Smile
Of course, right as it was time to say “cheese” Princess Charlotte seems to have dropped something. But not to worry — mom and dad were on it immediately.
7. Mom Talks
Middleton talked with the little princess, who’s known for posing for the cameras, as they stood on the church steps. The mom was probably trying to distract her daughter with conversation to keep her from doing anything too silly — like sticking her tongue out. As parents, we’ve all been there.

8. Loading The Car
The royals have drivers to make their lives easier. Nevertheless, parents know the struggle of getting their kids in and out of the car — even Prince William.
9. The Send-Off
As the parents pulled away from the church, they had Prince George nestled in-between them for the car ride back to Windsor Castle. The wedding was over and they had successfully managed the children during it — which explains why they were all smiles as they pulled off. That feeling of accomplishment is unbeatable!
The royal wedding was a huge success — and these parenting efforts certainly helped the ceremony run smoothly. Now, that’s a parenting win!
