Wine Slushies Are The Drink You Have To Try This Spring

With Spring here and Summer soon to follow, it only means two things—sun, and wine weather. Now, a trendy new drink is making its way across the Interwebs: The Wine Slushie. That’s right—your childhood favorite, aka a slushie, + wine = pure bliss.

Not only are they festive and perfect for your next picnic or pool party, but they’re also easy. Many, you can make in a matter of minutes. In doing my drinking—I mean, research—for this story, I found three key ways that people are slushin’ their wine.

Of course, we had to try out a few recipes ourselves, and here were our favorites—and how you can make wine slushies of your own.

1. Peach Moscato

For these, by DivasCanCook, gather together your favorite Moscato, frozen peaches, and powdered sugar, and you’re on your way to peach paradise. Basically, you blend the ingredients in a blender or food processor, then pour the mixture into ice cube trays.

Then, freeze them. When it comes to party time, blend the ice cubes and you’re on your way to adult-only slushies. You can get all the recipe details here.

DivasCanCook keeps several different flavors on hand in freezer bags so they’re ready at a moment’s notice. We think this is genius.

If you’re more a visual person like I am, watch their short video below. But, I have to warn you: You’ll turn into a wine slushie-making machine and want to make them ALL. THE. TIME. (Just make sure you invite us over to taste-test them.)

2. Blueberry Cream

If you think the drink above was the most delicious thing you ever tasted, see what happens when you add ice cream (yes, ice cream!) to your wine slushie.

Not only are blueberries healthy for us, but when they’re mixed with vanilla ice cream and white wine, watch out. Unlike the above, you blend everything together and then serve them up immediately, which eliminates the freezing-the-batch(es)-first part.

Hungry Couple collaborated with Honest Cooking and the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council to create the recipe. If the latter approves, how can you not try this recipe?!

3. White Zinfandel Berry

Dessert for Two made their wine slushie by pureeing their mixture of wine and mixed berries, then freezing it in a shallow baking dish for a couple hours. You can see for yourself here.
