This Woman Who Hacked Her Fridge To Dispense Wine Is A Genius

Adulting is hard. Especially when you buy a new house and have to shell out big bucks for your new pad and all the new furniture and appliances it often requires.

But, thanks to one new homeowner, buying a new fridge—at least—just became a whole lot easier to swallow.

U.K. fashion blogger, Clare Potts and her boyfriend Joe were setting up their new fridge in their new house when her moment of brilliance came, she told BuzzFeed.

“We ordered the fridge and Joe said it came with a wine cooler section and I said, ‘Or we could put it in the water dispenser.’ It seemed to make perfect sense,” she said.

And, the brilliant plan worked, at least for one evening.

“We finished off the bottle and washed it out so it’s back to water now. Not sure if it would work if you left it for a while, though,” Potts explained to BuzzFeed.

And good news, there is no lingering taste of Pinot now that it’s back to boring old water as usual, she assures fans of the idea.

Good thing, because it seems everyone and their internet brother are going gaga over this idea. Since tweeting her ingenious hack, the post has been retweeted nearly 70,000 times and received almost 200,000 likes.

Fans are taking to Twitter to sing Potts’ praise, hailing her as the rightful genius that she is.

And, based on other comments, it seems fridges everywhere will never be the same.

I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t check my own fridge to see if it was capable of this genius hack.  And, sadly it isn’t. Apparently it’s time to shop for a new fridge.

What do you think? Would you turn your fridge into a wine dispenser?
