This woman lost 65 pounds in one year—without going to the gym

Social media is a great way to find weight loss and fitness communities that can help motivate people to reach their goals. Connecting with other people who are also trying to eat healthy and exercise can provide inspiration, as well as accountability.

That’s what happened for fitness blogger Tiffany Elizabeth, when she decided to get serious about fitness back in 2o16. She was 24 years old, weighed 230 pounds and wore size XXL.

‘I Wanted To Have Energy To Play With My Kids’

“I kept seeing so many fit moms playing with their kids and chasing them around and kept thinking how much I wanted that,” Tiffany wrote on her blog. “I wanted to have energy to play with my kids outside and enjoy life with them!”

When Tiffany decided that her weight was holding her back from being her best self, she decided to make some drastic changes in her diet. She cut out dairy and gluten, and dropped nearly 20 pounds in the first few months. She realized that her unhealthy cravings had subsided and that she was feeling better than she had ever felt in her life.

This way of eating might sound similar to the popular Whole 30 diet, which people typically do for just one month. But Tiffany stuck with it for an entire year—completely eliminating junk food, candy and soda—and dropped a whopping 65 pounds and several clothing sizes.

And the most inspiring part? She didn’t even join a gym.

How She Did It Without A Gym

She did exercise, of course. She used the Insanity Max 30 workout videos and did the routines to the best of her ability.

“I paused a lot in the beginning just to breathe,” she admitted to PopSugar.

What kept her motivated during her weight loss journey? The positive response she received on social media.

“People message me every day and tell me I’m their motivation,” she said. “That they’re on their weight loss journey because I made them believe they could reach their goals.”

Not only does Tiffany’s Instagram “fit family” help her stay on track with her diet and workout regimen, but her real family does as well. She loves being able to play with her kids and “take them to the beach without feeling embarrassed” about her weight.

If setting a healthy example for her kids and Instagram family was one of her goals, we think it’s safe to say that Tiffany has succeeded with flying colors. After reaching the one-year mark this past May, she has continued to lose weight, and according to a recent Instagram post, she’s down to 156 pounds.
