Wow This Girl Can Paint! 18-Year-Old Gets Her Art In The Met
Cliffannie Forrester is an 18-year-old senior at the High School of Art and Design in New York City. Oh, and did we mention she is also an artist whose life dream of exhibiting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art has come true?
A couple of years ago Forrester went on a mission trip to Uganda. While there, she snapped some photos. One of those photos of a young girl would eventually inspire her painting that today hangs on the wall at the Met.
Forrester credits her high school art teacher with encouraging her to enter her painting “Uganda” in the P.S. Art contest, a competition that exhibits work at the Met from New York City public school students (pre-K through high school).
As a winner of the scholarship competition, her piece will be on view at the Met now until October 23 and featured on a Times Square billboard June 22 to June 26.

Forrester shared her big news on Twitter and the internet loved it.
She told Huffington Post she plans to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology and major in Fine Art. “My next goal is to get another piece in a museum. I never want to give up my work.”
And, we don’t want you to give up either, Cliffannie. We can’t wait to see what’s next!
