You can book a submarine through Uber that will take you to the Great Barrier Reef

Uber’s already a great option for getting around by land, but the car service is opening up the possibilities for exploration by water, too. In fact, you can now book a submarine ride through Uber, which will take you down under to explore the breathtaking views of the Great Barrier Reef.

Yes, you read that correctly. The service, called scUber, can be requested through the Uber app for people in the Queensland, Australia, area. If you’re in Gladstone, Cairns, Port Douglas or Palm Cove, you’ll have access to this submarine ride through Uber on certain dates from now until June 18.

Uber has teamed up with Aquatica Submarines to offer this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Booking a scUber ride will allow two people to travel below the ocean’s surface to see the Great Barrier Reef up-close by way of submarine.

You can get a taste of what the experience has to offer through this promotional video posted to the Queensland, Australia YouTube channel:

If you’re not near Queensland, there’s still a chance to experience this scUber ride first-hand. Through June 1, Uber is giving two lucky people the chance to win a scUber ride. All you have to do to enter is tell them in 25 words or less why you deserve to “experience the wonder of the Great Barrier Reef with scUber.”

The prize package includes return airfare, a five-night stay at a resort, a rainforest tour and a $250 AUD Uber credit — all on top of the scUber ride! Winners will be announced on June 3.

If you’re not one of the lucky winners, this scUber ride will cost about $2,075 USD for two passengers, which seems like a small price to pay for an opportunity of this kind. The offer gets even sweeter when you learn that Uber will be matching the fare of every ride taken with a donation to the Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef.

But even if you don’t book this submarine travel through Uber’s special promotion, that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on exploring the Great Barrier Reef via submarine entirely. You see, Aquatica Submarines will allow people to book a submarine ride long after this promotion is over. All you have to do is check out their website to inquire about future trips. Then you can start planning your vacation to Australia and really go down under like never before!

Who else is adding “tour the Great Barrier Reef from a submarine” to their bucket list?
