You can buy freezable bra inserts to keep you cool this summer

Once that summer heat reaches a point where it’s nearly unbearable, you’ll try just about anything to keep you cool, won’t you? That’s what the makers of the cooling gear at Polar Products are banking on. They’ve come up with some pretty out-of-the-box ideas to help keep you cool in the scorching heat.

One such product is the pair of bra coolers. The product name does a pretty good job of describing just what these ice packs are designed to do, but in case you’d like some further explanation: Yes, these are in fact ice packs that are designed to slide right into your bra. An interesting idea, to say the least. Banishing boob sweat once and for all could be worth the $37.11 it’ll cost you to own a pair of these, am I right, ladies?

An initial concern that came to my mind was the mess these would make once the ice packs started to thaw out. Because no one wants two giant wet spots on the front of their shirt, after all. But the cotton covers that surround the ice pack seem as though they could do a good job of absorbing any moisture that might occur during the melting process.

There aren’t many reviews on the product available through the website, but those who did leave a review talked about how helpful these inserts have been in the heat. “I used the bra coolers the first day that I got them. Texas had already reached at least 100 that week. Best purchase I have made. I would recommend to any female,” one customer wrote.

Another customer pointed out that the bra inserts (along with some cooling scarves from the brand) are quite discreet. “The scarf and bra coolers are so discreet and really helpful, especially with the inserts frozen solid,” the review read.

Someone else pointed out that these were helpful for another use — during a hot flash. A reviewer who used the inserts for just that gave the bra coolers a four-star rating, wring, “Hot flash be gone!”

Women who have breastfed before will understand the need for some cooling in that area, even when they’re not outdoors in the sweltering heat. In fact, one mom came up with the idea of freezing Smucker’s Uncrustables and sticking them in a nursing bra for some added comfort when you’re feeling sore.

The mom posted about the hack on Twitter, pointing out that the frozen sandwiches also double as a snack once thawed:

Clever! Freezable bra inserts might come in more handy than you could have ever imagined, whether you buy a pair to cool off or come up with an inventive way to DIY your own.

What do you think? Would you try using bra inserts to cool down this summer?
