You Can Now Buy Confetti Buttermilk Pancake Mix

For me, a birthday is an all-day event. No “normal” day until you go out later — the celebration should begin as soon as you wake up. That means, of course, with a birthday breakfast. Preferably one with sprinkles.

Now Krusteaz, a company that makes mixes for pancakes, cookies, bread and more, is making that special breakfast even easier with their latest mix — confetti pancakes. Not only are they colorful and photo-worthy, but they are also gluten-free and quick to make if the celebration just so happens to be on a weekday.

While you can add eggs and milk to the mix if you’re wanting a protein boost, if you’re short on time, just add water. The new Krusteaz mix is available now in the baking aisle at Walmart and on for around $3.98.

This isn’t the only gluten-free confetti pancake mix on the market. Hungry Jack also makes a Funfetti mix, and it’s available at Target for $4.19.

Of course, you can also eat confetti pancakes even when it’s not your birthday, like when you’re in need of a pick-me-up or, you know, a random Tuesday. The mix can also be used for waffles or non-breakfast treats, like these Funfetti pancake cookies from Sarah Scoop. She uses Krusteaz normal pancake mix, then adds Funfetti sprinkles, so you could instead use the new mix and skip having to buy separate sprinkles.

If you can’t find one of these mixes or forgot to grab some to celebrate a birthday breakfast, all you need is pancake mix and some sprinkles. Once you make your pancake dough, just add the sprinkles and cook them up like regular pancakes.

Or, you could follow this Funfetti pancake recipe from Taste of Lizzy T, which goes even further than just sprinkles in the pancakes because it uses Funfetti cake mix in the recipe and swaps syrup for frosting and whipped cream. Basically, it’s like eating birthday cake for breakfast!
