You Can Now Buy Snickers And Twix-Flavored Chocolate Milk

These sound like a sugar rush!

While my breakfast as an adult usually consists of a smoothie (if I even eat breakfast at all), I have fond memories of what breakfast meant as a child. Weekends were French toast or waffles, and weekday mornings were a sugary bowl of cereal. Sometimes, the cereal was even flavored like candy or cookies. You know, proper nutrition in the ’90s.

I shudder at the thought of starting my day like that now and am pretty sure my 30-year-old stomach would not allow it. My tastebuds, however, would be more than happy to have sugar for breakfast. Preferably, something chocolatey.

And now that Snickers and Twix-flavored chocolate milk exist, I could get that whole sugary, chocolatey breakfast in a single bottle.

While not technically a protein drink, they are both made with real milk and pack 14 grams of protein per bottle, which is a lot more than you’d get with most bowls of cereal.

The Snickers-flavored milk delivers a bold, nutty flavor that is balanced with the sweetness of gooey caramel and rich chocolate. The Twix-flavored drink combines the flavors of smooth chocolate, rich caramel and cookie. You can find them both in 14-ounce bottles at convenience stores nationwide beginning this month for around $2.49 each.

Despite the calcium and the boost of protein in these drinks, they should probably still be used as a treat only. They both have 270 calories per bottle, 52 grams of carbs and a whopping 48 grams of sugar.

If you’re looking for a protein drink for your mornings that’s less candy-like and still tasty, however, a company called Aloha also just released a new drink you might feel better about. It packs 18 grams of plant-based protein and comes in vanilla, coconut and chocolate sea salt. OK, that last one sounds like candy, but hey, mornings are rough and you deserve it. All three flavors only have 5 grams of sugar per serving.
